dont mock the old people. I actually think my bike is older than you Hamie...
Yeah my bike has everything a car has, But I haven't had out long I just finished my second tank of fuel yesterday. Though I want to run it till it dies so I know how far I can go on reserve.
What bike do you have?
I have a yamaha Virago 535. its either the '92 or the '97 model. or one with some of the key parts of the other.
I know the carbs and the engine is definately the '97 version. but the speedo could be the older model as they did not change.
but the fuel tank is most likely the '92 version. based on there the air filter is.
Ooooh, cruiser. No idea how you guys sit on those things feet forward. I'm a bit older than your bike though![]()
That's where the naked sporties come in. Same setup as a sport bike but the footpegs are usually more forward and the bars more up and backward so that you sit much more upright.I find a cruiser more comfortable. center of gravity is right. on a tourer or a crotch rocket it just feels wrong. feels like I am hugging the bike and begging it to go around a corner, where the cruiser I tell it where to go because I am sitting back and I am in control.

i plan on hacking my kickstand killswitch and putting a hidden switch so an unsuspecting thief won't be able to ride the bike away..

I hate to break it to you, but they pretty much never ride them away.
Lift and load.
I only did it to look cool and be able to start the bike while I'm standing next to it. I usually fail by leaving it in gear.
yeah i know, but at least if someone does try to ride it away they won't be able to so easily.
Your ignition will do a much better job of that.
Also rather let them take it than walk back to mangled bike with open wiring.

Not 100% sure at this point. Going to have a look tomo in the light.
Stopped at robot and bike stalled. The clutch was not disengaging... The lever was very loose.
I pulled bike to side of road and adjusted clutch by lever. Managed to start and get into 1st without stalling. About 100 meters up the road same thing...
Adjusted lever to max so adjusted clutch cable by engine to the max. But even that won't disengage the clutch...
Anyone more mechanically minded got any idea? Like I say I will look properly tomo. If I can't fix it I got another problem - how do I get bike to the KTM about 3kms away...?
