If you find decent ones let me know. I've been very close to losing it in the wet and close to roadworks with sand in the road.
I wanted to get a set of Michelin Power Pure SC's but no one had them. On the grom forums, everyone praises these tyres. I settled for a set of Michelin City Grip. You can instantly feel the differnce. These tyres aren't even run in yet and they feel alot more solid on the tar. The stock tyres are a bit fatter.

I took a 120/70-12 front and 130/70-12 rear and they are a bit thinner than the stock tyres.

Thanks - we're actually facebook friends from way back when he drove a RX8 - I've been thinking of dropping him a line, but need to commit to going the HD route before wasting his time.

Also a bit nervous testing/buying/insuring a bike with only a learners :p

Call him. I wasnt even sure if i was going to buy a bike. Walked out having bought the 48. Lol

Dont be, i got my learners a month after paying the deposit, collected the bike and rode home.
That reminds me, was told that after having your learners for 6 months premium drops. Need to call my broker and follow up on that.

Where did you get the from/fitted?

When you say fatter do you mean wider or thicker profile?

Why would you put a narrower tyre than recommended on?

Saving cost? Lack of stock?

The tyre is exactly the same spec as the stock tyre. They are just narrower. Both front and rear. I went on to the grom forums and everyone says the same thing. The Michelins are just narrower.

Some advice if you folks would be so kind.

I've been casually keeping an eye out for a good deal on a second-hand Duke 390 and ended up looking at one on the weekend being sold by a fried of a friend. It's a late 2014 model with a mere 630km on the clock. Bike is in showroom condition having only be taken out a few times by the current owner. Extras included crash bars and longer windshield. Owner is asking R50000 and is reluctant to budge on price. Good deal?

Based on the few second-hand Dukes I could find out there on Bikefind, Autotrader, OLX, etc.. it seems like a decent deal but I could simply be searching in the wrong places. Any input is appreciated.

I am at KTM Durban and they have a 390 Duke 2015 brand new for R58999 , I am sure an offer on this bike would be a better deal than 50k for a 2014 .
My bike is busy being serviced 690 Duke.

I noticed that those are often used on the Honda Ruckus

Reviews seem good. First need to get a new helmet though. Charging me R900 for new visor, not sure if it is worth keeping my current helmet with scratches etc.

So - I'll look at those tyres next month.

You mean the rounding profile is different?

Because if the numbers are different...then it's not the same spec is it?

I'm in the same boat, pinlock no longer functions because I suspect the visor is warped (how I don't know). But on a 3.5 year old helmet I'd rather just get through this last winter and then get a new helmet before next year May vs getting a new visor which is 25-35% the cost of a whole new helmet

Yeah for R900 just for a visor you might as well just get a brand new lid from Bell.

Good price, great helmets.
