GT Air is a little heavier than the XR, which is expected with the extra visor and so on I guess, but it's not crazy. It's in the top box so don't quote me on this but I think it's 2.35kg.

GT Air largest size is 1757g

I wanted to get a set of Michelin Power Pure SC's but no one had them. On the grom forums, everyone praises these tyres. I settled for a set of Michelin City Grip. You can instantly feel the differnce. These tyres aren't even run in yet and they feel alot more solid on the tar. The stock tyres are a bit fatter.

I took a 120/70-12 front and 130/70-12 rear and they are a bit thinner than the stock tyres.

So how are those city grips treating you so far? By the looks of it my options are:

Michelin City Grip
Michelin Bopper
Pirelli Diablo

Seems like the Diablos have very good grip but if you read the forums they seem to be good for about only 3000km or so before going to scht. City Grip is getting very good reviews so I'm leaning towards them.

3000km only with a GROM?

How the duck.

Even with a Busa I wonder how people manage that.

They are 100 times better that the stock Vee rubber.
The Pirelli Diablo was an option I was looking at as well but my bike never sees a track and I just cruise around. Go to work and back. Practice a stunt or 2. The tyres are not even run in yet and it has more grip than the stock ones.

I'm happy so far, I have yet to test them in wet weather.

So the weather was excellent on Monday and I decided to make use of it.
I quickly planned a route on google maps, don't have a gps for the bike yet. Closely watching SauRoNZA's post to see if he is happy with the Navigator V.

I took off on a chilly morning to to Riviersonderend on the N2, via Robertson/Storemsvlei

From there I took a gravel road to Greyton

Fire it up has a competition running and you can win a Yamaha R1. You just need to follow them on facebook, Share their facebook page and complete an entry form that you have to drop of at their shop. The draw is on 31/07/2016 and you have to be at the shop when the draw takes place to claim the prize. I'll be looking in to it.

Very lekker.

You retired or on leave?

I'll do a bit of a proper "review" of the bike and it's related fiddly bits soon, but the short answer is I'll definitely get a Navigator again having now used it daily for three weeks.

When you say the club do you mean the BMW Motorrad club cape town?
Well i normally ride with friends and sometimes on my own. Must still make a plan to join one of the Motorrad club events.

I don't like clubs, too many rules to follow. I ride bikes because of the freedom you experience. Group rides as well. I try to avoid it. Too many numb nuts doing really stupid things, causing accidents. Not for me. I'll do a small group ride, with friends that I know.

Have you been on a BMW club ride, particularly off road? Perhaps road clubs are different, but the above is far from what I have experienced.

Ya I would imagine road clubs things get a bit more "interesting."
Having said that, the club is great when starting out since you get to learn some of the routes, how to ride etc. But after some time (anything from 2-5 years) getting together with mates in a group of 5 or so is much more enjoyable imo.
