I use a pair of no noise motorsport earplugs, works like a charm, anything above 100km/h and I feel I must have them in, the difference is night and day.
You can still hear cars and hooters even have a conversation with somebody in the car next to you.
That together, with a sena, I can do highway speeds while listening to music and still hear cars around me, make phone calls if need be too.

I'm with Zuner here, also use No Noise earplugs. They are comfy and work a charm...

I've watched some reviews on them both and they all say the 750 is the lighter, more maneuverable of the two with a forgiving suspesnion set-up. Slightly put off by the aesthetics of the tail though. The 883 appeals to me as it is basically a factory-built bobber.
Why wouldn't you recommend it/them as a commuter? No intention to commute myself, I deal with too many taxis on my work route, just something to cruise around on over the weekends.
agreed on headphones. its a must have.
and while I do not have a senna headset, I use my Aftershox Bluez Two bone conducting headphones inside the helmet.
it is amazing how clear the music or calls come though.

So I finally got a new bike 
2009 CBR600RR. I'm in love with it and really liking the color scheme.
I had to drive the bike from Hermanus to CPT. I was a bit scared in the beginning but it's not nearly as scary as people make it out to be. Yes the power is night and day compared to my previous 250 but the bike only goes as fast as you want it to go. I love how stable the bike is and not having to shift so often compared to the 250. I'm not irresponsible but man this bike just wants you to go fast
If you're on a 250 go out and get yourself a 600.

In the previous pics you can see I plasti dipped the inside of the screen black. It looks a lot better compared to the clear screen.
The first thing I did was install some crash bobbins.
The bike didn't really need a service as it was done at 17000km but I decided to do it anyway.

I have a 180, 250 and 800. I prefer the 180 because it's light and very easy to maneuver in traffic. I've eventually realised that size, speed and torque isn't everything...
I don't really commute with mine but compared to my 250 the weight doesn't feel that much more. This bike is really light and as maneuverable as the 250.

I have a 1200 sportster and the bike is heavy. doesn't mean that it is difficult to manouver, but I actually have a better commute on my 250cc honda. it is lighter, and easier to get out of 'situations' a lot quicker

I find the weight of my 800 at 220kg plus too much for everyday use. For me personally a bike between 160kg and 180kg are perfect.
I test rode a 1200 HD Sportster Custom once, never felt a desire to own a HD after that again. The thing is too damn heavy!
Superbikes tend to be a bit lighter than cruisers, (which is what I prefer) so I can understand that bigger bikes may not be as heavy. I just can't get myself to buy one of those...

I know this generation of CBR600rr was the lightest 600cc at the time. It weighs around 185 - 190kg according to some sites wet weight. That's only about +-20kg heavier than the 250.
Still need to get a tail tidy and integrated tail light. Also looking for wheel tape to match the metallic green but can't find any.
Whats stopping you?
