I've watched some reviews on them both and they all say the 750 is the lighter, more maneuverable of the two with a forgiving suspesnion set-up. Slightly put off by the aesthetics of the tail though. The 883 appeals to me as it is basically a factory-built bobber.
Why wouldn't you recommend it/them as a commuter? No intention to commute myself, I deal with too many taxis on my work route, just something to cruise around on over the weekends.
So I finally got a new bike![]()
2009 CBR600RR. I'm in love with it and really liking the color scheme.

I had to drive the bike from Hermanus to CPT. I was a bit scared in the beginning but it's not nearly as scary as people make it out to be. Yes the power is night and day compared to my previous 250 but the bike only goes as fast as you want it to go. I love how stable the bike is and not having to shift so often compared to the 250. I'm not irresponsible but man this bike just wants you to go fast
If you're on a 250 go out and get yourself a 600.
Cruisers in general are just heavy and sit very low so not great for commuting.
It can be done, but I wouldn't recommend it for a beginner as risk obviously increases.
If it's a weekend/friday only bike it will probably be fine.
Even as a veteran rider I've spent some time in traffic with Cruisers and it's the last one of the list of bikes available that I would volunteer to do lane splitting traffic with.
Depends on the cruiser.
I have decided I need a Ducati Xdiavel. Unfortunately the bloody thing costs more than 2 kidneys.
I just couldn't get myself on my bike these last few weeks. The wind in the boland is crazy. I ride from wellington to malmesbury on a 45 deg angel the whole way!
Depends on the cruiser.

speaking of this, I'm pondering getting a camelbak backpack, just to have something to drink on the road![]()
Saw one yesterday at Bikers Warehouse. Pretty damn expensive if u ask me. If I can recall it was in the region of R350Guys, where can I get one of those aluminum license disk holders? My plastic one is about finished....
