So the clutch appears to be clutching. Can push start the bike but can't electric start it for some reason. Also can't get it out of its current gear, when I try change gear I can hear the gear kind of catching on the next one, so clutch isn't functioning properly I think. Or there's a misalignment somewhere or something.

Sounds like the clutch safety switch is stopping ignition.

Yup that's correct regarding the electric start. Found the problem, the gear selector linkage had come out of place so wasn't engaging or changing gears

Well I took mine with my own damn phone :P

BTW, this bike has a 351 Chevy engine. As in, the 351 from a car.

I love the sound of a V8, seriously. I'm keeping an eye open for the opportunity to get an old CLK500 - for exactly that reason.

There's a guy in our street with a V8 trike...

Look I wouldn't choose the bike myself, but I do like that type of custom work, I find it mechanically impressive. Also, the torque on that thing...wow.

It's got a 1-speed gearbox. I guess with that much power and torque you can just have 1 extremely long gear.

There's a guy around here somewhere with a new R8.

I stop breathing every time that thing comes past.

There's also a Lumia SS that cruises around every so often. Not quite the same but very near there.

Amazing how they are still distinctly different.

I have a Lumina across the road from me... when that guy gets home all my house's front windows get an orgasm.

Mate of mine has one with a fokhoff supercharger.


Chasing that thing through the golden gate national park with the roof down was epic epic epic.
