I have to question the safety of electric motorcycles though considering one of their selling points is that it is so quiet. From your link:

The stealthy Thunder 6 electric motorbike is super smooth and quiet to ride. The exhilarating whoosh of silent electric acceleration is hard to describe but it feels very cool!

This while a lot of bikers out there want louder pipes so cars can hear them.

Loud pipes save lives is an absolute bunch of poop in my opinion

So I used it this morning.. and it works! Instead of opening the visor 20 times, I can keep it closed and get no fog. :whistle:

There have been very select circumstantial moments in my life where it definitely made all the difference.

But on a general day to day, especially while lane splitting it means absolutely nothing.

That being said I have personally walked straight into a Prius that I thought was parked, so hearing nothing at all can be a danger in itself.

Well personally I can't say what the impact of it is except that when I'm driving a car I've often heard a bike before I've seen it and know I need to lookout for it. The other day (documented in this thread) there was a guy riding without his headlight switched on and hearing him was the only reason I didn't hit him.

I'm not saying you need a bike so loud that it sets of car alarms but some "noise" does help.
 
I hope Kilroy and co can get it sorted. Not that I'm active there anyway but still.

So a guy riding illegally needs loud pipes in order to be safe... not the best example :p I personally don't recall a single instance where I've been in a car and heard a rider before seeing them. I think it is more of an excuse for people to get overly loud pipes "because they are liking to be saving my life you know." Sure, maybe 1 in a 1000 times they are useful, rest of the time its just another thing that makes non bikers dislike bikers
 
It was supposed to be a winter project. It ended up happening over three winters. Whenever I had time, I had no money to continue on the project. Whenever I had the money, I had zero time :D

I stripped my 2004 KLR650 down to pieces with the intent of rebuilding it. I decided to paint the frame, subframe and a few other bits matte black. I only work on it when I head to the farm so progress is a bit slow but here she is as of last Sunday. Doggo volunteered to help push it:
