MyBroadband to change its article comments section

I don't know why there isn't just a way to link the forum up to the comments section so these threads are teh comments.
Dunno, I prefer it separate. Forum discussions are usually between people who know each other and often veer very much off topic. Seems odd to append such discussions to a news article on the blog side of things.

I don't understand; what is "Disqus comments".

Where is it? It is something other than the MYBB forum?

I had high hopes, but I posted a proper comment on the Facebook fine story.
In short, I stated that Facebook's whole business model centers around selling your personal information, and the facial recognition technology is not just used for faces, but logos of clothes, drinks, places etc. to further enhance the tageted ads you receive
MY COMMENT GOT KILLED....If that doesn't qualify as insightful or worse, Makes me a troll...then I have very bad news for myBB...they may soon join mygaming, which dwindled to nothingness with no readers.

nah there are some pretty pathetic comments under the articles, the other day i saw a pic of a devil screwing jesus in the ass. wtf for man. some people just post useless insults too.

yes free speech and expression and kak

too much of anything is bad

One has to remember this is a publication first and a discussion/forum second. They actually do have the right to preview what goes into/onto their published plages. There are ways to criticise things without seeming like you are being negative or breaking it down. Learn to write with the correct tone - and your posts will go through. I am sure they are interested in generating discussions as that leads to foot-traffic. Sites are useless without visitors.

What is your Disqus nick?

Would be great if we could also moderate the blog posting articles from some of the myjournalists. I mean trusted myjournalists articles would automatically go on and be listed. Those of course include non-bloglite, non-bait, non-advertorial + research done right.

Imagine that.

Is that not censorship.?
Maybe we will get less articles on how Bitcoin is going to rally.
If that’s censorship then bring it on. Alternatively make people post using their real name - confirmed with a LinkedIn or Facebook account. Too many groot bekke out there.

So people who point out the clickbait articles will not have their comments shown? Well done MyBB! That is how you show them... /s

Where did you figure that?
As for clickbait, people are triggered by the most ridiculous stuff lately. Must be something in the water.

I am sorry but I am an expert in my line of work.
An article was published today which I call "smart advert". Its the biggest load of bollocks this side of the internet. I am happy to give the correct info, but what for, just so that you can push a publish button and make money off my hard-won expertise?

These changes are now to shut out those who are not "yes men" and are rather trying to point out the flawed articles.

Count me out, I am not going to comment on news articles for some glee club points. As it is, I have "NewsFeed" on ignore. Might as well add the rest and continue engaging with friends in Off-Topic

Rather avoid the corners of the net that trigger you ;)

No Groot bek here but I would consider my real name here, only visible to members. But then I expect to be heard when I correct a journo who is out of his depth. But it won’t work. Gerd Naschenweng tried it and he got banned anyway for absolute bullshyte

Yeah, but Gert doesn't know when to stop. That was obvious. Being polite yet opinionated and roasting someone for being less than perfect or attacking a forum owner personally are two very opposite ends of the spectrum.
I wouldn't use my real name but them I wouldn't likely voice my opinion in public unless it was really worthwhile.

It's probably better to just disable the comments section, after all if you remove the following types of posts from comment sections in today's internet...
  • Trolls
  • Haters
  • Uninformed
  • Racists
  • SJW's (I guess that covers a few that I've listed above)
Then you have the precious few left.

Anyone willing to contribute something meaningful to a post is more likely to do it in a forum than a comment.
It's way more easy to quickly post something negative and forget about than to actually engage with a community.

I do truly hope constructive criticisms over posts do not get deleted no matter how bad it may make the author look because you do get some really poorly researched articles.
Galileo was an uninformed, MalcolmX was a racist.
