Need DiVX type player WITH recording function(PVR)

Yip, I have recorded a clip to 2GB flash drive, creates very large files when recording HQ
Without HDD - can go take 2TB Sata

Just kept on, after i had bought it they told me it was the incorrect price and asked whether I still wanted it, duh! think i paid R1800 and they wanted R2400 now
Said, your bum - that's what was advertised!
And it arrived 4 weeks later, back when i bought it only thing around was the mvix pvr.
 
Not a bad purchase, about the size of an external drive, and has all the things for hdmi, opitcal, coaxial etc
I have an aerial for mnet connected to it and dstv easyview package connected as well.

I actually wanted something that could store all my dvd's, series and record normal TV, which it can do, BUT doesnt support mkv files and dts from DVD's - a bummer:(
 
I used to have a Archos AV400 only had a 20Gb drive but it was awesome. I had it on the seccond channel of my dual view. as it was postable I used to unplug it and take it to my PC to download what ever it recorded to the HDD.

Now it seems the whole world had gone DRM scared so they dont make PVR's anymore.
It looks like I will be holding on till the Medi8er lands.

Also the only problem I used to have was the schedules the Archos could change the DSTV channel and record but I would like to have a downloadable TV guide.

So maybe the answer is a HDPVR with a Medi8er

Isnt' it the Mede8er? And as far as I know it's available already and doesn't have PVR functionality.

OK, so I'm ready to make a purchase. Finaly decided on the Zioncom QR-130 from NIVO.
When I say decided, I must clarify; it is the ONLY media player with recording function available in SA for under R3000.(I would love to have somebody proof me wrong on this!)

Request stock availability from Nivo, and GUESS WHAT!

's right me matey, NONE available until 2012 comes(at which time the world will end...!?)

So back to square UNO.

Need Media PLayer with recording ability, available in SA.

Any ideas?

Esquire in Cape Town has the AC Ryan PVR media player that records, everything on TV and Mnet, saw it there last weekend on the shelves, haven’t bought one myself
