It seems like we may have just missed the boat this time round in terms of an official Apple presence in SA.
In the last week or so Apple have opened a bunch of online stores in SE Asia including Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines.
I don't know if they have physical stores yet, and most (all?) of them seem to have an App Store and not the full blown iTunes Store, but surely these will eventually follow.
If Apple is willing to open shop in those economies during the current crisis, we must be doing something wrong, not to get in on the party.
