I have an ecs black 780g board and I'm happy with it. Got 6sata ports one esata and an esata port and it's a full atx board. I popped in a 955 and it's just beautiful. Both processor and ram cost under 3grand. You could use the cash you save to get a 5770.

The amd equivalant processor is the athlon2 620. Costs about R200 cheaper though at R1100.

So you'd willingly lose out on i7 class performance because of what?

AMD cpu coolers are about 10times easier to install anyway.
