No Data connection but full signal

Just be glad you're not with Vodacom. Talk about dropped calls most of the time. Goddammit you'd think a company that rakes in millions per day would be able to provide sufficient coverage/bandwidth, but NO.

EDIT: In before Abzo.

Their core business is rugby, not a cellular service. They just have this cellular thing to advertise rugby. Or so it seems.

Cell C cut their service instead of their price. Price is irrelevant where there is no signal anyhow. ANC moved Loftus from Pretoria all the way to Tshwane overnight but Cell C pushed Cape Town off the map into the deep ocean it seems.

The longer this goes on, the more I scratch my head. Im in the city bowl (Cape Town) and experience zero connectivity issues, both on data and calls.

Really dont know what you okes are on about :p

One of the consultants at the V&A Waterfront Cell C said that even their former excellent signal in Bo-Kaap/Tamboerskloof has gone. In the CBD, we have difficulty handling calls the audio keeps "breaking up." It is a random issue, not constant.

Sometimes my Internet runs smooth for extended periods of time and then, suddenly, it keeps dropping signals so badly that I can't even login to my pop mail account between efforts, web pages won't load, etc. Time-outs!!! It is frustrating!!!

I was keenly anticipating " An Apology Statement" from Mr AKC. That would have helped to defuse this current situation. Thats what most leaders would have done. Taking full responsibility.

But hell no, Mr AKC is clearly obsessed with Mtn & Vodacom. Just another marketing ploy, using his cheap data as a carrot to increase his customer base.

I'm sorry to say this, unless CellC sorts out this s**t with some real urgency then i'm certain they will be regarded as mere pretenders than actual contenders.

Fix that damn network before dishing out more cheap data.

Is this a permanent or intermittent issue in the affected areas? I bought a Cell C prepaid SIM card to test the network and I experienced this for a few minutes yesterday but since then it's been fine.

It is intermittent, random, unpredictable. That adds to the frustration as, were it a constant problem, it would have been easier to trace the faults and fix what needs to be fixed. Random as it is, the technicians may grey as fast as I am doing in finding what causes it.

In the V&A Waterfront, the signal disappears and re-appears as well. One does expect good coverage in Africa's most visited venue, but also in the CBD.

So your signal disappears?

I thought the problem was full signal but no throughput.

Thanks. I also experienced the disappearing signal.

Is the symptom low throughput or no throughput?

At best, when it is working, between 15 - 48 kbps. Otherwise, it times out even as I login.

Posting this in response to your laast question took long because I had no service.

Is the symptom low throughput or no throughput?

Nothing. Zip. Zilch. Zero. ****all.

On Monday night just after 8 my Whatsapp messages didn't work. 20 minutes later I received all my messages at once.

Here 3G full signal zero throughput - permanent, no change, going third month.

Here its Full H+ & Zero throughput. At most times i go my phone settings & manually change the network mode to gsm to get any sort of reasonable connection. 50% of the time, that wont even work. Its really a no-win situation.

Hi Cellc im having the same problems of a full signal bar and HSDPA but erratic data connections. It's giving Me anxiety attacks nevermind embarassment with friends I have recommend to switch to Cellc.Åt this rate i'm happy i have not bought any of the BIG Giga promotions as these network issues would have driven Me to commit suiced.Mthatha,Eastern Cape.

Sane issue here but in Johannesburg. No throughput waited over 10minutes for this site to load with F5/refresh every 30 seconds

Going back to Vadocon when my CellC contract runs out. data is simply not usable
