No Data connection but full signal

Have done repeatedly. No word apart from "log it with our tech support line" which is a waste of time. They're the ones that told me to roam on Vodacom
Are you sure it's not just your phone? Do you know other S4 owners experiencing the same issue?
Why not start a separate thread about that specific issue?

Not just s4 users having the issues.

I will take my 8ta sim to work on Monday and compare.
if it is congestion why don't they bloody fix it. It's not tweebokkemeteenskootmorsdoodgeskietfontein, it's sandton within 500m of sandton city. The economic heart of S.A...

I know a lot of S4 users who are having similar problems. The truth is, its irrelevant what Phone it is.
All phones are affected by this " Cell C Virus ".

Well, given that Cell C sold me the device (a Galaxy S4) I would expect it to work properly on their network... no?

Here's a speedtest of Cell-C's HSPA+ working on a Galaxy S4:

H+ 4/4 bars on my S4.

Can't see London in my server list in the Android app.

Sandton cbd and repeatedly. Their best wisdom? Force my network to Vodacom.

Not a reply to you specifically Sinbad, but...

I'm also in Sandton CBD (a couple blocks from Cell C HQ) - I have 2 devices, S3 (on RBM) and a Fujitsu M532 tab (Cell C 2gb data contract).

I mostly leave the S3 data off, and often the data on my tab goes inactive - after rebooting the signal bars stay grey and don't turn blue as it does with a working internet connection. Some time later (anything from a minute to hours), data connectivity will return.

I also have many calls that direct straight to voicemail, despite my S3 reading it has signal. And when i'm on a call on the road, the line drops 4 times between sandton and centurion while driving on the highway. I'm assuming that these disconnects are due to the handovers between towers, as one predictable line drop is as i'm approaching new road, where i imagine the voda signal is strong...

I wonder if Sandton isn't in a zone that has too many towers, and the devices are switching between them (non-seamlessly) - causing the data to disconnect over and over...

Cell C in on Hatfield Tuks Campus sucks! Jeez! I got my new S4 on contract from Cellc. I could not make any calls, send any SMSs, and no data connection at all, so no browsing or whatsapp whenever I walk underneath a building/roof. When I go out in the open I can at least make calls but still no data connection AT ALL. ****in Cell C. I should never have switched, that 1GB data looked so good..

I googled and I saw some complaints on here and helopeter about this issue in Hatfield. Still no improvement...

Well bought two of the 99 rand virgin mobile starter packs and I'm suitably impressed with the speed I get from my Vodafone router in Parktown jhb. No issues in the last month.

I forced my Note 2 to only WCDMA AT 2100Mhz it fixes my data problems when at home and at work..

The same here, Knoppieslaaghte, jhb near Diepsloot. Absolutely no issues 2 weeks since purchasing RBM starter pack. Based on the postings I would expect it would be worse that one year ago, but is not.
