OCZ Vertex 3 report back

agree something is wrong with those speeds. that said, the latency is also a big factor here. Just got your speeds are a bit below par, doesnt mean that the drive response time is running below par. follow? :)

its also a mind thing hey. You probably not noticing the improvement as much as you would coz you worried about the chipset/benchmark speeds etc etc etc

I've got one of the original Supertalent 120GB drives on a SATAII port and my PC flies. Dont ask me what my benchies are though, does it really matter??? I dont sit copying stuff back and forth and dont use corel/photoshop. Its just about the general improvement of the experience

all I care about is that I had a spinner, and it was a slug. Not I have a SSD and its a race horse!

hope that all makes sense :D

Hehe yeah it does. That's why I'm not too bothered by my SATA3 SSD currently running off a SATA2 port. It flies, I can't live without my SSD!!

Agreed, this is why the Kimgston 120GB S2 at R1,499 ex is tempting...

LOL! He is one of the mighty dealers, they do not devulge their secret prices. Only those with the wisdom to understand what they are seeing may view it.

I'll try get the pricelist later, don't have time now. Just not sure if the "special" price will be on the pricelist or via email (I don't get the emails as it is a company account).

Haha. I think he's just baiting me to get a reaction, because he thinks because I am a dealer I would not paste ex VAT/mark-up prices. :D Such a lil troll!

It's not all that tempting i saw some intel specials at axiz for 1.7k ex vat.

Much better.

Did you guys miss that?

Why would i hide it if i told you the price or why would i tell you the price if i wanted to hide it?

1739.00 ex vat. Postman there is something severely wrong with you pal. I promise i am not out to get you, so relax. Geez i posted the price and i get called a troll for putting stars WTF . I put them there because i was quoting directly off the email. It's just something i have always done and i gave you the pricing.

I am not a dealer either, i used to have my own company but i got out of it because there is no money in selling pc's anymore but i still have accounts with everyone.

Most of the dealers will deal with the end user anyhow, go in with cash and you will be helped.

Your words were that you saw some specials for R1,700. How was I to know which of these multiple Intel SSD specials you were referring to, and especially price, if at first you refer to multiple products and a vague single price? Well, not by posting starred-out prices. Thanks anyway though, I get the gist of it now.

Not only "people out to get people" troll. You my friend. To suggest there is something severely wrong with me, because you somehow think that I think you are out to get me, is wrong and laughable.

But besides that, you have actually accused me before, recently when talking about Esquire in another thread, for some other strange reason, of something similar as to what Gnome accused you of (incorrectly) in this thread ("protecting prices", if I could sum it up :D). Just saying.

So what is it again that makes Intel SSDs better? Lower failure rate, longer lifespan?

Perhaps you need to look up the differences on google. I might say something that you take heavy offense to :D.

www.google.com go put in the two models and boom sorted.

All we need now is a frontosa special on adata 120gb for 1550 and we are looking awesome :D. So many choices.

Okay, I didn't read the whole thread and I am not going to. Must say, I was expecting this thread... ;)

Anyway, HDTune gave me the incorrect "speeds" as well...

But, there is something that you have to change in CrystalDiskMark to get the correct info, but can't remember wat it was... Search for previous posts, as I have started one as well a while ago and so did other people.

Did you install the Intel driver or are you using the standard Windows Microsoft driver.

Guys, some help,
I have now got the Asus P8Z68V/Gen3 and running a 2700k Intel.

My speeds still do not look great on write.

Any ideas?

It is, do I just install it or is there something to configure?

Thanks Gnome

In Crystakmark is says about 130 but in that bat file in DOS it says read and write around 480, could crystal be wrong?
