Hey CW... do you guys have some cool app that can deep dive to identify congestion right down to DP level?![]()
Um, well, er.

Uhm, a Crystalweb rep told me (on live chat) that my one line is behaving bad because it was on a different DP unit than the other line... Guess it was false information?

No.YES! PATHPING!![]()
Nah.
FYI, did you read the response in the red-thread about us being a non-entity, not a threat, and a niche player? I found it quite amusing.![]()
Stated like this it is not false.
I didn't... but yeah sure. They were a non-entity not so long ago too
btw - customer login link on your landing page is still fooked.
Is there a way I can see what my line is syncing at remotely?
Yep, or even different DSLAMs or IMAXs within the same exchange (as you know!).IMAX units are susceptible to congestion compared to ISAM/MSAN units. As it depends on the fibre capacity coming into the unit.
EDIT: Different DP's can run to different exchanges as well - So that could also be the case.

So the CW rep was not providing false information.
Is your ADSL line with Telkom or CW? All you can do is log a fault and complain about exchange congestion. So going back to my original question... wtf can I do because im tired of getting 0.2mbps during certain times of the day...
Is your ADSL line with Telkom or CW? All you can do is log a fault and complain about exchange congestion.
And then pray that Telkom has funds available to upgrade the backhaul links at that specific exchange.

Naaice and very true. I'm also sure that Telkom would tell you (and not us customers) whether that specific DSLAM/IMAX/MSAN/ISAM is congested as they have real time traffic logs monitoring congestion. One thing that should be noted, is that if a line is with us, we try to go over and above to determine what the problem may be, before we blame Telkom congestion. Oftentimes other problems can manifest themselves as having symptoms of congestion, when in fact the port itself was simply faulty, for example. So we do thorough checks on this for customers who have their lines migrated, before blaming Telkom, who often take a lot of unnecessary flak.
