I think a general " The IPC upgrade are still on track " will be appreciated by all the customers who are experiencing problems and go along way. Some reassurance never hurt :)

The IPC upgrades are still on track ;)

Because at the moment I am generally absent from MyBB I tend not to spot things in the thread always, and even when there is a little bit of rancor in the thread I adopt the general view that it sometimes it is just better to let the fire smoulder a bit especially when in many cases all that I can say is "please hop onto live support".

I did take a look at our IPC capacity in Jhb and Durban last night again and if you are a Gauteng customer experiencing problems - regardless of which product - please get in touch with support.

And as indicated before, the home capped accounts are managed differently and are a value by design product.

As for network notices, while I can't speak for other providers, there seems to be a misunderstanding as to what a network notice seeks to do. If a network notice is issued stating the network is excellent (which is likely to be the case soon) then a network notice to the effect that the network has degraded is necessary. However using network notices for non-network notice purposes can create a problem when an actual network issue arises.

Thank you for the post Paul. Know you are busy running a company.

Just one question regarding this statement. Given home capped is value product and managed differently. Is it within it's scope that streaming does not run properly during business hours - purely Twitch and YouTube I'm talking about - and even in the evenings?

Or are what we are seeing on home capped related to the shortage of IPC and it will be resolved by the IPC deployment?

That is all I want to know.

the problems being experienced by the home capped accounts are definitely capacity related

differently managed as in we can't speak with as much authority as to what is happening behind the scenes

Ahhh! Thank you very much.

All I wanted to know.

So few question with regards to Home Capped products, once the IPC issues has been resolved. Should I be able to:

1. Stream Twitch, Youtube, SuperSport, NetFlix, Hulu on HD without issues any time of the day
2. Get full line speed on HTTP, HTTPS, NNTP and P2P downloads any time of the day

Not so worried about P2P downloads since I hardly use this to download method, most of my download are scheduled between 12am-6am as requested. Big issue for me would be, not being able to Stream properly, i dont use NetFlix/hulu but added it in there for the others, but at the moment I have to stream Twitch on "Low" to be able to watch without any buffering.

yes on both counts

IPC upgrade a little off track :( installation done, testing in progress

Get involved! You sir are not allowed to sleep until the internetz are fixed :D

the engineers won't allow Gladys on site

Also the possibility of being expelled as a refugee from the Eastern Cape on arrival in Cape Town always poses a problem

...quick question before I hop onto support:

any latency in pta/jhb, specifically eso, or is it just server load (theirs) from time to time?

I agree!

YouTube defaulting to 720p60fps! Have not seen that in a loooooong damn time.

Will keep monitoring :)

Always been curious, why do you let it default to X resolution. Why not just force the resolution you want?

I usually do just that.

However it choosing that setup upon video opening is always a great sign that my line and account is working as it should.

The last month had to select 720p and pause and let it buffer for ages.

Things are looking up!

I believe something has changed...

For the first time in weeks I am seeing "Downloading at 214kb/s" on my 2mb line. Hope this is a sign of an IPC fix?

Cheerio
