Downloads over http even with a download manager does not seem to help and max speed varies between 100 - 300Kb/s on a 10mb connection.

I'm aware of this one for some customers. The fix rolls in soon for this.

There's also some incredibly exciting news coming out soon with regards to a massive upgrade (nothing to do with IPC or the like) for all streaming customers. Can't say much just yet but those of you watching Netflix on the always-perfect Crystal Web accounts are in for a lovely surprise. But the aforementioned issues have been identified and we acknowledge them - we do have the solutions for them; they won't take long to resolve; and they will result in an incredible experience for all.

So just to confirm - all NNTP traffic regardless of provider is running a bit slow currently but there will be a fix ?

For some customers, and not all of the time, yes. We've picked up the problem there - it's just a categorisation issue we had but obviously reclassifying things can result in other stuff either breaking or bypassing, so it's quite a process to test before rolling out a network-wide fix.

I must thank one of our customers on mybb, Phinix, who identified the resolution to Twitch streaming and informed us about it. It also helped to pinpoint the problem on our end, and to fix, which can now happen soon.

This is one of the reasons we continue to love the mybroadband community and our customers. It really helps if we can get actionable feedback too. Sometimes pathpings and even tcpdumps aren't enough. :D

We've picked up an issue here. We have a fix for it as well. None of this 6 month waiting nonsense.

Just awaiting a specific ETA from the guys on this one and it will be tested and implemented. Won't be this week as it's quite a task, but will be soon that it goes in. That's the best I can give you at this time. Once I have a clearer picture of the actual ETA I will update you guys.

Right now there are a few minor issues and mostly localised which we need to fix. In other words we are aware of it, know how to fix it, and even have some temp solutions to see you over. They are as follows:

Twitch for some customers: Fix coming in to resolve these issues - happening this month. Until then, pumping the stream into VLC using http://livestreamer.readthedocs.org/en/latest/ with HLS and HDS will resolve it for now.
Slower than expected downloads over http(s): fix coming in this month - until then use a download manager to force the required multi-threading and it should be mostly resolved. Also very localised.
Slower than expected NNTP: our nntp server issues were resolved and it's back up and running properly. Other services experiencing slowish speeds - we know the problem and a fix is being introduced in the next two weeks to resolve - also pretty localised and not having any massive impacts but we do acknowledge the problem; know how to fix it; and are working on doing so now as well.

This is why I love you guys. Current issues presented, explained and what is being done to fix them with ETAs. Keep on going on :)

Anyone else experiencing slow NTTP speeds outside of business hours but fine during? i.e. the opposite of what you might expect from a shaped account.

I've logged into my home machine several times from work throughout the day and on my 4mb account am seeing speeds in excess of 400kb/s, yet when I get home after 5pm I consistently (at least since starting at CW 2 weeks ago) see 100-200kb/s.

Note, I've only tested NTTP, but other protocols could be affected as well during the same periods.

That Twitch fix does not help :(

I hope this includes a better Hulu streaming experience as well.
