My guess the london node is ****ed and or the shaper looking at my path pings... even multi threaded (10) http connection is slow.

What I find confusing is that speedtest.net is amazingly fast while other areas is not. Now the question is of course what did change since last month:

1. "new accounts"?
2. more costumers?
3. new rulesets?
4. load shedding?

...I wait on CW for more expert feedback :)

Definitely wasn't like this last month and the month before so I gotta agree that something somewhere has changed.

I believe CW said that slow HTTP was a localised problem, but how localised? And if so which regions?

/Streams MUST flow but HTTP MUST slow :p

http://testmy.net/results 98kB/s on the 10MB file. (4Mbps line)
:(

Also still a lot of packet loss/
This has been ongoing from day 1, since about 3 or 4 months back.
When will this be resolved?

I would like to know as well as I am getting similar results to you on my 20Mb line.
Quite disappointing at the moment.

20Mb so far has been rubbish for me at times.
Considering downgrading to 10Mb now as I don't see the point in having a 20Mb account that performs worse than my 4Mb did.

This is my problem as well. Currently, I am not getting 20Mbps performance on my account, no matter what I am doing - browsing, NNTP, streaming.

We've picked up an issue here. We have a fix for it as well. None of this 6 month waiting nonsense.

Just awaiting a specific ETA from the guys on this one and it will be tested and implemented. Won't be this week as it's quite a task, but will be soon that it goes in. That's the best I can give you at this time. Once I have a clearer picture of the actual ETA I will update you guys.

Right now there are a few minor issues and mostly localised which we need to fix. In other words we are aware of it, know how to fix it, and even have some temp solutions to see you over. They are as follows:

Twitch for some customers: Fix coming in to resolve these issues - happening this month. Until then, pumping the stream into VLC using http://livestreamer.readthedocs.org/en/latest/ with HLS and HDS will resolve it for now.
Slower than expected downloads over http(s): fix coming in this month - until then use a download manager to force the required multi-threading and it should be mostly resolved. Also very localised.
Slower than expected NNTP: our nntp server issues were resolved and it's back up and running properly. Other services experiencing slowish speeds - we know the problem and a fix is being introduced in the next two weeks to resolve - also pretty localised and not having any massive impacts but we do acknowledge the problem; know how to fix it; and are working on doing so now as well.

Hi guys - just need to requote this. We are rolling in fixes - nntp should pick up. The rest as per above.

When should the results of the NNTP fix be visible?

One thing that I have noticed is that NNTP runs better (~1.0MB/s vs 500kB/s) after 07:00 than 00:00 - 06:00.

Next two weeks all fixes should be rolling in, as well as some pretty damn exciting news as we have tied a massive upgrade together with the fixes as well.

Customer portal update:

Final testing is happening now in production with a few customers. Note that this is v0.1 - it's not a full release just yet. It's not fully featured, and will continue to be developed on every day.

Should we be happy with today's testing in live environments we will begin to release it to all customers.

going to be putting the capped account to the test against Vox Fatpipe, WA Capped and Axxess Capped this month. Love pfsense :]

Wow I love the layout. Everything nicely categorized. Can view my current IP (although not necessary anymore as I have CrystalDns) Cant wait for the daily usage part to be up and running.

were the portal test rats randomly chosen or did they have to apply?

Slow http today - whats happening?

Trying to get my Naruto manga fix for the last 2 chapters but half the pages aren't loading >.<

Nevermind, I see people on Reddit complaining about Mangapanda's servers taking strain!

At what point do you intervene on a matter between you and telkom? Your account has packetloss and ping spikes on my exchange. You blame the exchange that is fine as far as I know you are probably correct.

However afrihost and webafrica capped accounts function normally on my line including a telkom uncapped account. However ont he second adsl line it seems to have the same ping spikes and packet loss?

It's got to do with the CW port on that Exchange, I think.

Customers with issues right now please hop on support and report it to us - please do so via live chat if possible - we have a solution to resolve it but I must confirm your username beforehand.

If you can only email, please make the subject: "Fix slow speeds" and add your username into the email.

Thanks

It's difficult to do anything with Telkom. It's simply not our infrastructure - there may be a fault on the exchange itself, and Telkom must investigate via a report from the customer. We can escalate to Telkom Wholesale but that's often even slower, and we only have a single data point unless we have multiple customers on the same exchange complaining, in which case Wholesale ask for more data.
