Seems like some of the work is happening early on Telkom's side with the update - they have taken a few of their metro ethernet links offline at the moment for upgrades. Currently affecting some areas in Gauteng, as there is a cutover to the new tech.

Gauteng ADSL users are mostly affected this evening as many of the fibre links go down. They will be brought back online between 6am and 7am. Work is happening on much of the core infrastructure at important connectivity points and will affect many subscribers on the Telkom network, including our customers.

There is also a fair amount of testing happening in the South on the MSAN connected networks.

It's part of the new network rollout this week. Hulu essentially changed their SSL streaming ports and the servers they deliver content from keeps changing as well - so occasionally it's not being recognised correctly. Fixing as we speak. I'm a big fan of Hulu so it's one I am following up on closely.

it worked fine last night :) got to watch flash :D

lets hope your fix is a permanent fix :p

Just to clarify - Looking at the time this reply was posted you guys really go beyond the call of duty - Kudos to Shaun and his team.
 
Hello

My line was effected from last night till early this morning.
It is backup and working again. Telkom might have been the cause. Tried it with to other ISP accounts all failed.
It would sync to exchange but no ISP connection.
So I was one of them effected.

Last night gaming and p2p downloads great.
Windows updates ver..............y slow. I hope this will be resolved coming Saturday.

Telkom has me already downgraded from 4 to 3mbps line.

Hmm they downgraded me as well, 10-8
 
Hulu streaming should be much improved - there are still some tweaks that need to deploy to finish the config for Hulu 100% but things should be better - tested last night and today in HD. Will continue testing today. Netflix is rock solid. Twitch is the next streaming service to get a makeover.

In terms of downloads, plenty testing happening and speeds will be increasing for 10, 20, and 40Mbps customers. Things are so far looking on track but will update with any ETA changes if I receive them.

All in all it is good news.

good to know, being in the middle of a pc rebuild is the worst time to have downloading issues

Well no wonder you're annoyed with the slow speeds, assuming of course you're having to do the million windows updates after a re-install.

I wish you luck as i always rip my hair out when i have to do those even with normal internet speed.

I don't have to do installs and I'm still pissed about these slow speeds.
20Mb pfft
