Following feedback, a link to the customer relationship agreement has been added to the footer of all relevant pages of the existing site rather than just the sign up pages.

In addition, we have also slashed the pricing of some of our DSL lines. 20Mbps DSL lines are just R399 and 40Mbps lines are now R499. These savings will be passed on to existing customers as well. 10Mbps was R399 and is now R375. 4Mbps was R279 and is now R249. 2Mbps DSL lines are R155 - if you are currently on a cheaper 2Mbps package as an early bird customer, you will continue to pay the lower price.

Just a little early Christmas present for bundled customers. :)

Why not rather give all of us uncapped customers a 30% or 40% discount on our accounts next month seeing as though for the last couple of days most of us are basically not getting what we're paying for?

...right now I must be happy with an AWESOME 60KBp/s on a 4MB line. :confused:

This price reduction is unrelated to the network upgrades.

I'm very aware of what is going on with my primary ISP.

Now read my sig.

No... your clearly not as what you describe is exactly what i said is wrong. You response and your sig makes you come across and vain and arrogant while being totally ignorant at the same time. Congrats!

We all have the issues with reduced speeds. We all complain about it... that is the main issue you "are aware of"

So how much for a 20mb uncapped bundle now?
Any chance of intermediate bundles (my line is good for about 15mbps)

R999 uncapped and R399 for the DSL line.

No plans for intermediate bundles unless Telkom introduce such a product, I'm afraid.

@CW
After I spoke to you last night, I tried with a backup account and the download failed as well.

Thought it must be the hosting company, but they said all was well on their side.

I then saw that my backup ISP had major issues yesterday, so that might explain why the download from the server failed when I used them.

I tried the download again close to 00:00 and this time the backup file downloaded.
So I'm not sure what the issue was.

Across multiple accounts sounds more line related, but it's impossible to say now. But thanks for letting me know about it.

I meant on the data portion. So pay for 20mb line, but have a 15mb rate limit on the ISP account?

Our accounts sync to line speed, so if Telkom go ahead and upgrade the line we have to be monitoring it and build systems to auto-provision and bill on the new speed after informing you and allowing notice beforehand. I've thought about it, and it is possible to remove the line speed sync but it requires hundreds of hours of coding to get right and is not an easy project.

@CW

What happened last night again with my account.
Gamming did not work large latencies and downloads where poor.

Last question I see you guys report quite a few port problems. Please explain?
Switching my modem off does nor mean port loss?

Ok sure. But I think when (if) you have the time, some people may find this worthwhile :)

I'd be happy to sign right now on a 15 meg account. If my line could do 20, then I'd take that, but I can't really justify the extra cost for only half the benefit.

A few issues:

1) I'm not sure which your account is
2) I'm not 100% sure what you're saying here
3) there is a network upgrade taking place that is affecting throughput at the moment and can affect latency sensitive services like gaming when contentions increase. This is a temporary issue, although too prolonged this month for anyone's liking, including mine.

@CW

Once you log into your account there are a couple of selection you can make.
"ADSL Session information" tab.
Under the far right column you get" Port-Error or Admin-Reset or User-Request.

Please explain meaning of the three items I mentioned.

I'm on a Capped account.

:erm:

Something awesome will apear here, shortly.

Oh I see. A port error is an error that occurs between you and the Telkom port at your exchange. Admin reset would be a reset call made from our servers on the account, and user request is where you disconnected from your side on the account.
