I went and had a look in the Afrihost thread to see how things were going over there. I quickly backed out. Its December 2014 all over again.

I'm not leaving Crystal Web even if someone paid me to.

Edit: Also, earlier this evening I saw a solid 4.01Mb/s download from the MyBB Speedtest using the international option. For those of you trying to track any changes to the current coverage map, this link still works and now shows a hell of a lot more areas in PE that can get VDSL soon.

Personally, I don't need an upgrade in download speed, I'm purely interested in improvements to upload bandwidth, because that is a huge bottleneck for a lot of people.

CW is excellent - enjoying it.

Just miss torrent streaming on popcorntime, it's shaped to death even on 20mbps. That was my experience on WA though some time back - so no surprises I guess.

Invest in another streaming service. Netflix is smooth all day every day
 
CW, any chance you can check for fiber availability in my area? The Telkom site is buggy as hell.

Quite literally busy working on all of that at the moment. It ties in with the rest of the upgrades we're doing on our side behind the scenes. New backend system built from scratch deploying; new portals; new payment options; new products and product management; new network management systems; all with some cool features. We're also going to reintroduce something we took away a while ago for all uncapped customers in terms of product performance. ;) And introduce some cool new performance features as well. I'm as impatient as you, but it must be done right or we won't deploy. ;)
 
Reintroduce... Hmmmm don't remember anything being removed since the product's launch besides the stupid unshaped portion.
Or the speed decreases in downloads relative to file size?

Makes me curious :D

for the love of Christ PLEASE let us choose when to use it.

otherwise there's no point on having it. Doesn't even have to be "hundreds of gigs"

Just let us have the choice.

Or 2 products altogether

Well I'm sure they'll let you choose when to use it if you pay the corresponding amount or money it would cost them to implement such a thing :)

I'm down with just dynamic shaping from the get go. Just moved away from all automated downloads besides games and the few series I grab from usenet at 2am

I'm looking at moving my 5 year AH account to CW capped because I'm quite sick of the weekly breaks, the packet loss and the support has gone downhill so much. Since I don't see a CW capped specific account I'm just going to ask here.

First is it shaped/throttled at all? Is there anyway to test one of these accounts? Even if it's 1gb, I just want to see what kind of pings I can expect in my games from your network.

To all the people using it here. Whats streaming (specifically twitch) and gaming like? ping? Stability?

What's your monthly usage?

Capped contends p2p and nntp in business hours, which may affect the throughput. That's all. Twitch is currently only single threading and not getting full speed at all times but is usually really solid on capped. Busy working on this one on capped - no hassles on uncapped. Gaming is super - not sure when last we had a proper support query relating to gaming that was related to our network. We really do look after gamers.

My suggestion for streamers and gamers - choose uncapped and schedule the massive downloads. Our uncapped network really was designed for streamers and gamers, and there's no throttling. For big downloaders who want full speed at most times, look at capped instead. We'll be introducing new products in the coming days to fill the gaps in the range though. There will be an account type to suit all needs, no matter what.

I can only echo this sentiment.

I have been with CW since month 2, and I have been happy 99% of the time, with a few hiccups and mishaps along the way that were quickly and speedily resolved. Fast becoming MyBB's ISP of choice I think :)
I have referred people on to CW and I didn't even take advantage of the "code". I feel the service deserves my money (and theirs :twisted: ) and I would rather not have people thinking I am influencing them for my own benefit.

Keep on keeping on CW :) Can't wait for the release of the new website and the possible fantastic news that I might be bumped up with line speed by Telscum themselves.

Ask their support for a test account, performance is excellent on both local and international games.

In terms of streaming, Crystal Web is the ISP to use. YouTube, Netflix, Twitch, even those ratchet semi legal streaming services all work extremely well.

Try their uncapped, it's actually uncapped.

And coming from Afrih0ax, you'll be surprised by CW's actual support.

If you add a button that unshapes everything like a certain red, satanic ISP then :D

if you force use of an unshaped allocation, you know how people used to chug it to see what shaping was like..

If you let me be I'll keep throwing money at you.

But I'll still grill you until that new website drops ;P

and since I haven't used my account for nearly 2 weeks, did I win most profitable client yet


or did my download spree a few weeks back put me into the "watch" list

You'll see soon. I know you're going to like the additions, for one. And no, no forced unshaped allocation - we've rethought this one a little better. ;)
