Even so, It is a Uncapped Basic account, The lowest priced accounts that they offer. One can't really expect much from it anyway. Obviously you do, so ayyy, Good luck to you.

You have done CW more of a disservice than anything else. You attack absolutely anyone who has a comment not in line with yours. It really is tiring having you RAVE about them all the time, while lambasting everyone who has a bad experience.

It comes across as if you are either working for them or have shares there.

If you look through other threads, You will find that I've recommended people to both Vox and Webafrica, Not just Crystal web.

My opinion remains, Either pay the price for premium or stop complaining when you have schit service on cheap accounts - This comment covers all ISPs.

Myself personally, I have a 40 Meg Line, I pay a premium price for it, I expect a premium service (If I don't receive premium service, Then there will be holy hell to play). If I paid for the cheapest or most basic service, I would not expect wonders - Again this goes without saying with all ISPs

Can't agree with you more. I pay about 3 times what home basic uncapped costs and my account runs flawlessly. 24/7 uncapped unshaped. 4mb speeds at any time of the day on every single protocol including p2p and nntp.

No one ever said i expected the best of the best. But 20kb/s on a 4mb uncapped option is hardly anything to smile about.. Even if it went at half the speed i could understand, but this is extreme.

What's your usage so far? CW and WA's home basic is the same product so it should be performing the same

I dont know the fine details but as far as i know the basic un capped uses star rating system I maybe wrong. Also do anybody know if that star rating system counts for after hours downloads could that maybe be the problem to the shaping on these accounts ?

Only peak hours count towards the Star rating. Between 12am and 6am is more relaxed depending on the strain on the network.

The last week or two was hectic between 12am and 6am. This was confirmed by CW, so he is in the process to tweak the shaping profiles for Premium Uncapped & Capped.

Is something going on? Seems both local and international totally went to hell tonight. And not just on CW - my AH capped account is doing the same.. and at work they reported that the Vox business accounts are also in a dire state.

Guys, the daily usage reports that are sent out - are they displaying your total usage to date, or your total usage for that particular day?

Is the usage portal working for Premium Uncapped users?
I tried logging in now and no luck :(

Time for live chat I guess.

7am and it looks like my HTTP downloads are being restricted to nearly half my line speed. I have a 600GB capped account On 10Mbps line.

Hmmm...I'm also on Home capped and my downloads were line speed when I left at 6:10 this morning. Strange...

I have reported this also to CW, and I notice that the same happens on Afrihost/MTN, this was not like this before, something has changed.

Mybroadband uses a server I think that is located in Terco which is 196.10.98.18 for the JHB server.

IS does not peer there so the traffic goes to the uk and back causing the latency.

Hi jannier,

From our internal test's that we have done on our own network as well as other networks, It would appear as if it is a widespread issue. From the looks of things, It seems most networks route traffic internationally then back to South Africa which is why you are seeing high latency.

We believe Mybroadband may have changed hosts with the new speedtest they've launched, Which is why you are seeing a difference now which you did not see before.

Feel free to ask any further questions or you can use our Live Chat on our website - www.crystalweb.co.za

Steph
