Official Motorola RAZR thread (Android version)

Wow...I really like ICS. The UI seems much more polished and sophisticated. Allso phone feels more responsive. :-)

Yay....it was worth the wait. Moto...in future...dont make us wait so long.

I doubt they'll upgrade the RAZR to JellyBelly, they'd rather push their new phones. But this isn't a Motorola thing, it's pretty much industry standard. Still evil though. Luckily Modders Will Fix It (TM). By the way from the looks of it, they've incorporated some of the JB style elements already in this release, it looks pretty sweet.

Do you guys know if we can install the Motorola Circles Widget that the new Motorola phones come with???

We should be able to if we can find the damn thing. If you do, please post here because I've been looking and can't find it on XDA.

On a related note, why are there ABSOLUTELY NO good digital clock widgets on the market/play store/whatever? Not one! Beautiful widgets is OK, but I just want a decent digital clock, like the Xperias or the Galaxy SIII comes with, surely it can't be that hard to make?

Damit I sent my Phone in for repair been 4 working days and all they can say is its being tested by a technition. Hells no's VC are making my hair fall out:confused:. I can't wait to experiance ICS!! Has the Battery life been effected with this release?

Circle Widget:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1900190&highlight=motorola+launcher

Yes, I know, I'm awesome. Unfortunately it only works with the RAZR M launcher (included in the zip file) :(
Fortunately it's quite a nice launcher, it allows you to add/remove screens. It just has that stupid, unremovable Google search bar on top. Completely unneeded on the RAZR as it still has a search button.

Fantastic...thank you so much. Do I need to be rooted? Cant check the link on my pc....will see if I can do it from my phone. YAY!

No, the widget works even if you aren't rooted, provided you use the RAZR M launcher (which IMO is better anyway). Only the weather doesn't work.. There's a weather app included but if you try to install it says you can't override system apps so for weather you'd need root.

Edit: It also works on non-moto devices with ICS or higher, that link is from the Galaxy Nexus forum. I hate this proprietary bull****, who do they think they are, Apple?

Edit again: Wow, this widget is even cooler than I thought. You can flip each circle over and it has a different function on the other side. Didn't know that.

Ok so I'm just dumb it seems, the widgets can re-size, just not all of them. I'm really happy with this update. I like how polished the UI is, and the colour scheme is awesome.

Some of the stuff I miss:

Pressing the home button no longer brings up a mini display of all the home screens.
The widgets and app short cuts don't "flutter" when moved anymore
The apps and widgets don't get out of each others way when you move them anymore.

These are pretty minor gripes considering how nice everything else looks and feels. Has anyone else noticed their phone seems a bit faster now?? I can't say for sure but it definitely seems a little snappier??

Use the RAZR M launcher included in the zip file for the Cirlces widget, even if you don't want the widget. It looks exactly like the normal launcher (apart from the non-removable Google search bar), and it fixes 2 out of the 3 things - the mini home screens and the widgets moving out of the way. Also it's faster than the normal launcher.

It's just an .apk, you don't need to root or mess with any settings.

Harro! Any info from Vodacom or elsewhere on when the new Motorla RARZ's will be headed this way? :D Paleeeaase!

I see US is getting them Next week.

Nice Circle Widget that looks same as the Motorola one...but has a working weather cicrle.

Rings Digital Weather Clock - by factory widgets on the Play Store

Meh, doesn't have the cool coin flip of the real deal. Also I'm not sure if it displays your SMS's and missed calls?

Not too bothered about the flip. It looks cool...but I would not have used it that much. Having a cicrle that does sweet blue buggerall would have irritated me :-)

I'm using the world clock widget on digital.

When you add the widget to your homescreen...it will come up with the settings for the widget. You have to enable it there and set your city. If you did not do this...remove widget and start over.

Well, I could only get the home screen apk and the circles apk to install, the other 2 didn't want to install, when I remove and re-add the widget, it doesn't prompt me with anything

Edit: after some reading, I see you need to be rooted for the weather apk to install.
