hi guys

so im pretty happy with my note, even though I think the battery is quite dismal. I dont really expect to much though, as this screen is quite big hey.

Im running stock GB with 2.3.6 OTA, and finding the battery drain overnight at about 30%! eina!

I wanna ask you guys about car cradles. I was thinking of getting this for my car? Its a cradle and charger in one. But then I was thinking hold on, maybe I should just get one of these generic cradles and one of these adapters and just run a micro usb cable

Would that work? And it would probably be a bit cheaper I think, and I would have that cable to carry around if need be?

I got the original. Worth the cash. Not fond of generics.
 
personally I would go for the universal ...


Reason: My cover on my phone probably wont fit in the original and I wont be limited to the Note only...

Um... all of them :D

I originally got the xway and was so impressed by it I went and ordered 2 of each of the geo and fix.

These things are very strong.

Ye. Been in Edenvale about 10 years now :)

The xway is great. I actually shook the device back and forth (over the couch :D) and only when I started to get quite violent with it did my Note come off. I can't see any bumps in the road coming close to what I put this thing through.

The xway is a vent mount. The geo is basically the same thing except you can mount it to any surface in the car. I am thinking the geo is preferable as I don't want the heater blasting the Note when used in winter.
 
So the Xway just has the X support rubber (is the center a bigger magnet?) If the Geo can hold the weight of the Note I would prefer that, less obtrusive...

I got an awesome one from miniinthebox. Cost like $2.50, bought it just coz I was ordering other stuff but it's the one I use predominantly now.

If you want to hang ten a bit, the Geo is arriving tomorrow. I will test it and report back.
I imagine it has the same holding power of the Xway. Will see in the AM ;)

In my opinion yes, but I am pretty sure thats an international consensus.
Used a zagg screen protector on my last 3 phones and now my note. Last one even survived being stabbed by some idiot at vodacom repairs. Had it back a few days and that nanorm or whatever was on the job, can barely feel the damage on it.

Personally will never buy another protector brand again, nothing beats zagg...
 
I had a Zagg invisi shield on my HTC Desire, 3 years later (gave the phone to my niece) its still doing its job!

As far as I know touchwizz is essentially just the launcher and stupid lock screen so for about R40/R50 you can quite easily get rid of it plus add a fair mess of additional customization's.
Apex and nova both have "trial" versions, but widget locker si only R12 and well worth it anyway, fully customize your lock screen add your own shortcuts/widgets to the screen as well as to the unlock ring itself. Never used the stock unlocker so not sure what its 2 options are, but with WK you can set up to 8.

As far as I know, with Apex and Nova, even the free versions, you can customize your lock screen quite a bit as well, also adding up to 8 shortcuts on the homescreen...
