Official Web Africa thread

Couldn't agree more.

I ashamed to be using WA and even more disheartened by the blatant ignoring of customers who can actually provide proof of their network problems.

Also in agreement. How do we ask MyBB to look into this? I opened a ticket on the 5th of March, got asked to tracert to WA which I did, and didnt get any further feedback.

Honestly if they just said "we're having capacity issues and we're working on it" I'd be ok - but to ignore me for several weeks it piss poor and they should be ashamed

Dont WA advertise here? If so, i doubt MyBB would look into it.

WA Reps have gone dead silent - and I can understand why when they are not able to admit to the current massive network issues.

I am going to persist in asking for a direct response to Ticket ID: 132714.

Ive seen this happing in other corporations before, slimming everything down in preperation for a sale. I have no evidence to support this, but dont have any other reason to explain why this is happening.

Looks like live chat is gone too.

Webafrica is broken.

Perhaps they oversold RAIN products and are now up ****creek without a paddle or something is seriously broken.

Either way, I'm paying another R600 odd for another month of a product I can't use in the evenings. That's a failure to deliver in terms of the CPA and I'll be taking it further.

WebAfrica sucks. Won't even go into their technical fundies ideas of troubleshooting

We're having the same problems with the same products from WA.

Also cancelling my LTE Rain package I use at work, it crawls completely to a halt multiple times throughout the day..

Quick question to anyone ....

I want to get a 20gb + 1000gb account for someone, hows the news server and streaming these days? Worth the R39pm at least?

It won't work between around 7:30pm and 10:30pm, give or take a few minutes, for almost all protocols.

Outside of that, up to you.

Offpeak should be fine, but WA is out of capacity during peak demand and blatantly refusing to acknowledge this.

Thanks for responding, appreciate it :) It should be ok, account is for a night-shifter so most use will be after 10pm or 11pm.

I can only presume they're OK with this - right now its profitable for them to stay within the capacity they've bought.

If a few "power users" leave it's not a biggie, easier to replace those customers than buy a whole new allotment of capacity.

Sure, but it's also a contravention of the CPA and legally, morally and ethically questionable.

I hope karma pays them a visit, it usually does.

network IS update:

Latency was picked up between two of the Cores in Cape Town over one of the port channels, an issue with the optics is suspected and is currently under scrutiny. We referring to Optics / Fibre between the 2 Cores on the broadband network in CPT. DSL and fibre should see improvements.

I really hope this is the case and that the dire evening situation can be resolved - it's hell having to buy a second ISP package just to use during peak times.

From my experience, it's not just during peak times. I do work from home and if I run my VoIP through WebAfrica it constantly drops. On average I sit with 200ms+ latency locally and 50-60%+ packet loss.

What would you classify as a power user? I myself use it for work and streaming. I avg about 80GB - 90GB per month of my 300GB cap. My one neighbor does around 15GB per month and the other around 400GB per month. We're all leaving WebAfrica, not due to just the bad connectivity/capacity, but their piss poor service and current stance on just ignoring people.

Service has always been piss poor and their stance of just ignoring people is nothing new :(

Hmmm, conflicted now reading the posts after ..... not really worried about peak, just the graveyard shift downloading and streaming here and there but damn, some unhappy clients in here :(

Good day WA.

I am disappointed with your Orion Baatjies. She asked to to use a new client code for payments which I have done.
However another agent Letiah(?) does not understand why she made this request and Orion refuses to call me to explain.
Compounding to this, I have 2 x tickets that were opened and closed without a reply.
Please let me know why ?
