One Plus 3 Announced - Flagship Killer returns

Where did you get it from? The north american model is not at all compatable with our LTE and not in the mood to spend $440 from Geekbuying.

I got it from Zeek online and unfortunately only saw too late that it's only the US version, but I'm not really that bothered about the LTE support for SA as I have never used LTE before (I have wifi at home). I also haven't had the chance to verify if it will support our local operators, as I still need to cut my Telkom Mobile micro-sim to proper nano-sim size. Overall I'm just still getting used to the device and first impression are good. :)

Ps: Looks like CELLC LTE will work fine according to this site. :)

I can only say what it cost me a few years ago. I bought my OnePlus One the month it was released.

Phone cost: $349
Shipping to MyUS: $12
Shipping from MyUS to my door via 3-day DHL Express: $60 with insurance
14% import duty on $300 (I declared charger at $49, and they're exempt from duties): $42
14% VAT on 110% of $349 + $42: $60

Total cost: $523

There was also a R200 consignment charge from DHL to process the customs stuff. It took two days for the package to register in my MyUS account. The package arrived at my door early in the morning on the 4th working day after I sent the package from MyUS.

The amount above is a little under R8k. The OnePlus 3 is more expensive than the OnePlus One was, so you're looking at a large expense thanks to the USD exchange.

I was under the impression that you don't pay import duties on electronics? I thought it was only the VAT on the value (increased by 10%).

I'm based in the US and just got this a few days ago. For $400, it kills pretty much everything else out there. There have been reports of wifi issues and some signal issues but I've had no problems testing it against my mates Samsung S7 Edge. I don't see myself ever getting a "flagship" again.

One thing that pisses me off though. It only supports dash charge. So you need the proprietary oneplus dash charger (expensive), otherwise you charge at normal speeds which is still pretty fast with this phone.

CellC LTE on Oneplus 3!

Hi guys. I got myself a CellC nano sim and bought a 500MB data bundle to test the LTE support of the OnePlus 3 and it definitely works with CellC LTE : :D

Hi Guys

I'm quite interested in purchasing the One Plus 3 from Geekbuying(http://goo.gl/q8vAak). However I have not bought anything from out of South Africa. Could someone please let me know how it works? I'm thinking of choosing the free delivery option(I can wait a month or so for the device :D ). If I buy from geekbuying via Paypal(they do support paypal), will it be delivered to my address recorded on paypal? or will it be sent to lets say JHB and I will have to fetch it from some where there?
Also I read somewhere that customs will charge 14% on 110% value of the phone, is this the case always? Is there a chance I won't pay any customs? If i have to pay customs, do they deduct it from my paypal account or send me an invoice or something (have no clue how these things work)

Any assistance will be appreciated

Thanks :)

Similar in most ways to the LeEco Le Max 2

Looks like my current phone specs. Will let you speculate on the make and model...:p

The LeEco Le Max 2 released in May 2016 has similar specs, yes, except for the omission of the Infrared port on OnePlus 3 and the display type is different and display is slightly bigger at 5.7 inch, whereas the OnePlus 3 is much lighter in weight. Pity though about the omission of a 3.5mm jack on the LeEco Le Max 2, but it has slightly bigger battery at 3100 mAh. --> LeEco Le Max 2 - Full phone specifications

Comparison of the these two flagship killers: LeEco Le Max 2 vs. OnePlus 3 - GSMArena ;)

DJ was banned, due to corruption at MyBB. Seems they grew tired of him calling them out on their bs.

The LeEco Le Max doesn't seem to have gorillaglass either.

Yes that seems to be the case but other than that and the omission of a normal headphone jack it looks a great deal similar to the awesome OnePlus 3 in specs but not as widely available or a popular brand in most regions. :)

Whats the consensus..WHat is the best way to import the onePlus 3 to SA?

Using a forwarding service? if so which

Also, if you do use a forwarding service, can you arrange your own customs clearing? (i have a guy)

If you can wait for Zeekonline to have stock again, and that would definitely be the fastest way to get it (1-2 days). I got mine basically overnight from them. The only problem with some local online retailers is that they are inflating the price and thereby forcing people to rather try and buy from overseas and import it.

Took advantage of the exchange rate and pulled the trigger this morning. Now for the wait :(
