Q:Are you happy about the total cost?
A:Not really. I was hoping to keep the costs below R7000. But considering that I have a top of the range phone with latest chip and and 64Gb storage. Also considering that the exchange rate, I am happy. I suppose I could have bought Mi5 and saved a bit but, meh.

Q:Why did you order from the US. it would have been around R400 cheap?
A:I know, but the US version doesn support all of our LTE bands

Q:How long did it take?
A:14days from placing the order.

Q:Impressions on the phone so far.
A:The build quality is as good as the iphone. It is thinner that one might think. The camera bump is not as prominent as I thought

I would be too bummed about the cost. I paid R7899 for a Mi5, and to the honest I dont think its compatible to the 1+3.

Coming from the original 1+1, I would have loved to get the 1+3, but the local availability and warranty was the deal breaker.
 
How well does 1plus support their older phones with Android updates?

my 1+1, which was 2 years old, still got regular updates.

Plus there is a large community running custom OS', so I would say its pretty good.
 
OnePlus 3 - Spigen Rugged Armor Case

Just received my new Spigen Rugged Armor case for the OnePlus 3 today and really impressed with this case and the level of protection offered by it. It fits snugly and still gives access to all the buttons and ports on the phone whilst protecting the screen and back camera in a unique way by having raised bezels by the sides with good impact absorbing technology. Nice! Just note that your phone will now look much better than any case out there will make it look, so you will probably want a clear case now to show off that nice skin. One thing I've found is that with the ASUS charger port it charges very fast, but not quite the speed of what dash charge promise. Enjoy your new phone! :)

Did postbox deal with customs or is there a way you can clear it yourself? I know someone who deals with customs regularly

I paid Postbox for the shipped and they shipped it via DHL. They handled everything thing else.
 
Just got this as a gift from my SO . Wow what a device.. Coming from the N3 the size is perfect but the performance is amazing. Was on a CyanogenMod based room on the N3 so look and feel are also similar.

Still learning and customising but loving the device. Only small gripe is the sandstone black bumper case (OEM) doesn't fit as snug so the phone moves about a bit. Will look to some of the zeekonline ones as a backup as the phone is very slippery

Congrats on your OP3! OxygenOS is actually a bit better than CyanogenMod from what I can gather. :)

Thank you... Will feedback with some experiences as I go along. Enjoying Oxygen and how it just works, some of the CM ports had bugs (GPS, nfc, random restarts)
