Hi Rohela

Any other updates / insights after using the kernel + settings for a bit longer? Would you say its a worthwhile exercise to undertake?
 
You guys running custom roms/kernels?

It's so bare boned already I'm not sure there's much point to rooting for the purpose of loading a custom rom? I've got a font fetish though and the lack of out the box options in that department might motivate me to root...

I can't see any other way to apply a custom font...

I'm on stock for now but the kernel i was enquiring about boasts screen on time of up to 9hrs on a single charge - without sacrificing performance - so it peaked my interest. Pretty happy with stock O2 though

A VERY cursory check yields these options for fonts - Font fix

Flashable Font packs - needs a custom recovery though

Bluetooth device battery status on OP3

I've bought myself a pair of wireless headphones and were wondering if there's an app that could display the battery level of my wireless Bluetooth headphones on the OP3 but could only get this one app called BatON that really seems to be the only real working app although the only limitation seems to be that you have to manually refresh it every time to get the latest update on battery life of the connected Bluetooth device. I also now know that there are some Android smartphones (Nexus, LG) and iPhones that has this built-in ability to show Bluetooth battery status of a connected Bluetooth device.

Anyways, it is very nice to have the Bluetooth battery status of a connected Bluetooth device showing on the notification bar as some bluetooth devices don't give ample warning when their battery's almost depleted. Read more about the BatON app HERE. :)
 
Hoping to get a one plus 3 next week. Couple of months old. Anything you guys suggest I should be aware of, or look for or check.

Check the filesystem and android version after receiving the phone. For me the best results are with the F2FS filesystem and the latest Android 7.1.1, aka Oxygen OS 4.1.3 (see screenshot in a previous post). No real issues for me with my OP3 and it's still performing as strong as it ever did with a full day's charge and mostly on WiFi.
