Quick question for the folks who ordered their OP3T from Aliexpress - did the phone come with a screen protector factory fitted?
Overall, I'm not too impressed with the Oneplus 3t - too clunky and awkward to hold - lots of unintentional screen taps.
I do agree that it can feel a bit awkward in you hand but you get used to it.
Guys I really want to get this phone but I have a few concerns.
1. How is the camera quality in your experience (front & back, ideal ligth vs low light conditions)? I've seen a couple forums complaining about camera taking blurry photos, not focusing then having to play around with manual settings to get it to take decent pics, these settings then gets reset after restart etc. Some users having to send the phones back to have the camera lense replaced. Which brings me to my next question ...
2. What is the warranty on this phone in SA and what does it cover? If it breaks (e.g. screen cracks), How/where do I get it fixed.
3. Which is the better shop to get it from AliExpress, Oppomart, ConnectedDevices (who accepts eBucks by transferring it into one of their eBucks account)
I hope you guys can shed some light and help me decide.
Cheers
Well just goes to show who ever does their cellphone buying, doesn't have a clue.Someone commented previously that Takealot is selling the North American model which supports limited LTE frequencies in SA.
Mine did yeah. - as stated by many already though, it's crap...
1. Picture quality is good. For a R7k device it's excellent. Low light shots suffer though, a recent software upgrade has addressed low light performance, to some extent but it can't compete with top end devices. The front facing camera is possibly one of the best on a smartphone currently. Takes great selfies! I've compared it to my 6s and both front facing and rear facing picture quality is superior on the 3T. Auto focus was addressed in the last software update, 4.1.3. Video stabilization also received a performance bump. They actively working on improving picture quality by way of software tweaking.
2. Warranty resides with Oneplus in China, afaik there is no local support or service centre so if anything breaks the phone must be shipped to China for repairs. Not ideal at all!!
3. Aliexpress although I think there's a limited one year warranty from connecteddevices and/or Oppomart.
My preinstalled screen protector has started peeling (after just two months), so I'm keen to order a replacement. Any recommendations and would anyone be interested in a group order? I'm in Jhb CBD/Randburg
To those who had questions about camera quality, try not to fast forward.

I think the fact that the OnePlus 3T is even compared to all of the other phones is a testament on its own.
I been using this one for a couple of weeks now. It's by no means perfect but I'm generally very happy with it. It exceeded expectations. Cheapish too. Applying it was super easy and it comes fully loaded with alcohol swabs and dust removing sticker.
Wow, interesting. Sadly I didn't pick it. Not even in my top 3 per shot....
