Only able to access Cell C website (data services disabled)

Starting having problems this morning. You can connect to internet but cannot browse. Tried EVERYTHING before eventually walking into Cell C Tygervalley. They know nuffing and cannot get thru to Cell C call centre. Then other customers starting walking in with same issue. Anyone know anything? I am not sitting on phone for hours to get an "answer" from Cell C. Is this a DNs or Port Forwarding issue with Cell C?

Nope not capped at all. Have only used about 500meg of my 2 gig. Can visit Cell C site but nothing else. While in Cell C shop, 4 people came in with same issue. Modem shows connection, but you cannot browse to any website.

Okay, when that happens to me, it means my connection is capped.

For sure...but this is not the issue. I think there may be some kind or fuk up at Cell C...with some people's accounts or something. No one can get through to the call centre though.

I had this issue all day yesterday, haven't checked today.

I can connect, and it shows my signal is full. But trying to do anything on the internet is in vain. Websites literally take minutes to load.

This is in Joburg.

Spoke to them eventually. Apparantly there was a system error and data services on my simcard was disabled. May be happening to others as well? I haven't tested yet because Cell C modem cannot install on my Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit setup on work pc. Go figure....

Cell C Speed Stick still not working after 5 days

So its the drama queen again today but I am so bloody frustrated....

Our company took all our data cards that was various MTN and Vodacom data cards and the ported them over to Cell C. This was done through Nashua Mobile.

We already had the sticks in late April but Nashua says that it would only be activated on the 5th of May.

So all of waited in anticipation for the 5th but nothing happened. Phone Nashua and they said sorry the port has not gone through but it will go through on the night of the 5th. So the next morning still nothing. Phoned Nashua again and they advised me to download some software because the Cell C software is ****ty and does not work.

Phoned Cell C on Friday and they told me that they have to reset the IMEI numbers because they got a bunch of faulty ones in and it will work in 1 - 24 hours. So it is Monday today and nothing is working. Phoned Cell C to give them the reference number to follow up but Cell C said they cant enter a reference number and that my number I give them is faulty. What the hell is the point of a reference number then.

In the meantime Nashua cancelled all our old contracts so we do not have any connection at all.

I have tried everything on this Forum and the support that Nashua and Cell C has given me but my 4 year old has more computer skills than these people combined. The one lady at Nashua even said that I must change the APN from Internet to MyMTN. WTF it Cell C woman!!!!?????

The only thing that I get is the Cell C website and cannot get to any other websites or ping or ***kol..... This is happening on all the sticks on XP, Win7, Mac.

I though let me give Nashua Mobile one more chance after they completely screwed me over with the Iphone but no, the decided to **** this up as well.

Only being able to access Cell C website sounds like a RICA issue. Maybe the Cell_C rep can help you out, drop him a PM.

PM Sent to Cell C Rep

I am still on the phone with Nashua and they say that it is a network issue.
Why the hell couldn't they tell me this on the 5th instead they lied to me to say that it is my problem

On hold for the manager. Why can people just do what they say?? Bloody agents!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It seems most call centres are incompetent when dealing with and helping out with issues. I also got some shocking assistance from Vodacom and CellC call centres and the stores.

Eventually, I PM'ed CellC and my issue was resolved in a few hours. :)

Why port a data card? I see that as only wanting problems...

What will the reason behind the porting be?

The reason behind the port was if we cancelled our Vodacom contracts we had to wait a month before we can get the new ones and they would have asked us cancellation fees.
Porting was "quicker" and cheaper....

Anyways happy days for me!!!!!!

If anybody has the same problem and they are with Nashua you must speak to Jeff in data support, he literally sorted me out in 10mins where as the other people took 4 days.
Do not speak to Lesedi, Mnotho, Kevin or any of the other people because they do not know what they are doing.

The problem was that the data bundle was not loaded. Why couldn't any of the other people think or sort this out?

Hi All

Well I've taken the 5gb contract with the 21mbps speed stick and its been 4 days and no whoosh whatsoever. I can only visit the cell c website and no other sites even though it says that i am connected. I've taken the issue up with the store that i signed the contract at and phoned the call centre numerous times but nobody seems to know what to do. My patience is wearing thin on this and if I don't get connected soon, I'll be forced to cancel the contract and go back to vodacom.

Could somebody please help...
