OOB: 2+2 - another one gets bitten.

Hi All

To make a long story short, about 3 and a half gb of data was used on my data contract this weekend, which is funny because I wasn't at home and all my equipment was shut down.

Does anyone have any advice on how to dispute this? I want to at least make some noise before I pay the bill!

Cheers!

Hi

Can you kindly provide the 3G number so we can get as much facts as possible. We howver bill the sim card and not the person , so even thouigh the devices are off the sim can also be used in another device.

If there was a way to get out of a vodacom contract without paying a ridiculous fee, I would have been gone long ago...

The OOB Shark

I here many users complaining about the OOB shark , and i do Empathize with those who experienced this. The problem is that until Vodacom changes the tariff structure in such away that the OOB charge does not matter anymore , we will have to be more hands on in ensuring that this does not happen to us , and yes myself included.

It's simple, this 2GB bundle should have been top-up, not making it so is just an attempt to exploit consumers.

I could have used one of these, but rather went for Cell C, no OOB shark for me, thanks !!!

i agree that it would have been the better and safer option , however who wants to sit with OOB , so lets try to manage it untill something positive happens.

What's/Who's using all my data on My GiG 2 data bundle?

I have recently signed a new contract with Vodacom for R149 for a MY GIG2. I was always on a My Gig 2 for R349 - this is a new promotion!! Never had an issue.

Since I have signed up, I have not been able to get past the 20th of the month without running out of 2 Gigs!! Truly Idont believe i am using all of it.

Can somebody hack in or is it possible that I am not being given 2 Gigs?

Can a virus do this?

My My GIg 2 for R149 has now turned into a R700 account!

Or how can I monitor my usage myself?

Help

Hi

Its not possible for anyone to hack your line , unless there was a data sim added to your line and someone else is using the sim.

Could you not be using night owl at the wrong time perhaps, this is known to happen?

12a.m to 5a.m is Night Owl. No not stupid. I must tell you that I currently have a 12 months contract and I will NOT be using Vodacom for data ever again. Sorry.
old price - 2.3GB - 449
new - 2.5GB - 429
2GB - 349

Your prices are misleading and I have reported it to Advertising std authority as well as Consumer Protector. See my complaint also on Hello Peter.
