Howzit, which area you in? I see from one of your speedtests you are 50 miles away from Midrand. Just trying to get a picture of this 40mb saga.
 
I believe this was explained in the feedback thread.

Removal of this product has been part of the plan since January. We are developing a new unshaped product that will suit a wider audience.

Currently clients who have purchased Gold Uncapped Unshaped will be able to retain their accounts (except of course for those that abuse our staff).

I'm afraid as much as you are trying to create the great OpenWeb Conspiracy theory of 2013 - this will not be achieved.

We would have investigated your matter further, but unfortunately you chose to go down a path we have no time for. Thus I decided to terminate your account.

I take note of your earlier threats of persistence, but i'm afraid we see this matter as closed.

You claim you notified the current 4MB Gold Uncapped, UNSHAPED, Account Holders that OW is having problems with this Service.

Please could you provide me with proof of this, as i did not receive such notification.

Why did you not remove or amend the wording on your site in January till a few days ago that this Offering/Account/Service is being looked at and stop selling it, till a few days ago shortly after i made my complaints.

I have a friend who recently sign up to your 4MB Gold Uncapped, UNSHAPED Service a few days ago, i am talking about 2 or 3 days, before i lay my complaint. at the time of his perchance, there was no mention made on your OW Site of "Claimed" Account/Service Review and you where still selling the Account as i have purchased it.

You and your devoted few internal OW Friends, must please explain to me your contention ratio theory again, as contention does not start at the same time every day and stop the same time every day, i will send proof in my next post of this fact. The only thing that does start at a time and end at a time is a SHAPE. "so please stop lying to yourself and your users as it seems you are starting to believe your own lies."

As i have said, i have the proof, so here is some of it.... I am not just a troll trying to bash OW, i don't want your services anymore and I will deliver the facts to what you already know so that you can decide if you want to start delivering the Actual Service that you sell to your Customers or to tell them the truth.
 
Don't apologise Blankman, if OW accounts aren't what we pay for we all need to know about it regardless of Mr Beep's feelings.

guys .... i had to leave work to get to a drop box account or something from home, my work security rules do not allow access to such sites.... proof coming soon...

i find it sad that people post speed test results, in a throttle/shape discussion, the only thing that that proves is that http download speed of the line can reach the line/speed, but shaping is a different thing, ISP's make note of it that they Shape Skype, P2P, Torrent ... and many more .......

yes because if they unshape p2p your traffic load is going to be insane! and lowest protocol aswell and i agree... unshape on http/ssl/ssh/vpn etc. p2p should be shaped but skype shouldnt and youtube as well not...

i have an tip (just a tipppp) for ISP, keep stuff local. download the p2p stuff for the day as soon release and cache it on the servers = going to need huge database but! but! only need to download once! block p2p traffic outgoing and keep local. unshape (easier and cheaper to do this) need strong backhual an data centers but 60-70% of your bandwidth isnt going to p2p **** = can unshape everyone... Russia is doing this. and they are an huuuge country.

ok im rambling. if you going to compare p2p speeds with unshaped account, im sorry but that isnt true proof (need seeders and peers to upload) only way to test is speedtest to an Abroad server and make sure use same server as well. local speedtests are prioritized = you get bogus result.
 
im on Platinuim uncapped unshaped at moment 6mbps and yes i only get 50-100KBps at moment on P2P and im fine with it cause everything else is fast... youtube streams 1080P and Itunes downloads are insanely quick... if you got an unshaped account to think the P2P will be faster you are mistaken but yes unshaped is a word and they do try provide best bandwidth for you...

if speeds on distro's and like game downloads from steam are slow then id say ok shaping is in full affect

please let me know if you guys are happy with this result, i can reproduce it from an OW 4MB Uncapped , UNSHAPED Account at anytime during the day, this is supplied to me by my friend who still has an active Gold Account..... currently

if you like i can add the ISP IP's to further prove my point, or result in testing... i will just have to wait for my friend to go home during Monday 8AM and 5PM ... LOL

sabnzbd really dude really?(nzb are also shaped)(except if got own news server like mweb) port 119? 443? or 80? 8088? fnb is capped account. capped accounts are faster, no matter how look at it.

do not compare with P2P or P2P like services! this isnt accurate.

most ISP's limit on port 119. thats why i would get News provider that is port 80 (http) test with linux distro download! let it run over 2min and then take a pic.

"Best effort is what Telkom has always said, but come On if they did not "grantee", (this maybe the wrong word) line speeds, why would people buy or pay for bigger lines and or accounts, if it was always only "Best Effort Only"?

Telkom, MWeb ... the big players . . send people to your house to help you find the problem OW just keeps on giving you a new account login as they do not know why they cannot trouble shoot . . . . !! this is evident look at their thread.. and other threads.

Since when did the definition of "unshaped" become shaped if its nntp. The whole point of "unshaped" is that traffic is unshaped. Period. And you pay a premium accordingly. However, if you've paid the premium and still find your traffic is shaped, you have every right to complain about it.

So what you are claiming is that Mweb and Telkom will send people to your house to fix a problem, at their own cost? Do you know thw difference between Telkom Internet and Telkom? Did you know that these two are two separate entities under one holding company? Of course the line rental provider, aka Telkom will send someone to your house, they have to, as it is their hardware you are using. Telkom internet on the other hand will not. You are not renting something physical from them, you are renting data capacity. Why should they come and fix your PC problems?

Your argument is so flawed it would be rejected by a rogue policeman. I dare you to take Openweb on. Why not sue them on Monday. It would be the most entertaining year (and costly year) of your life.

Better yet, go get a Telkom account, and find something to moan about, and try sue them. Now THAT would be fun to watch.

Ok, I am bored now. It is quite tiresome repeating things over and over again, so I am going to make love to my real girlfriend, or perhaps take my real dog for a walk. Then have a real beer, and watch some real rugby.

Ran out if Linux distros. Sitting at 170GB usage so far. Think I'll let 'err idle for a bit.

Strange why my post from last night on the other thread was removed ...... i will re-post it and word it better . . .

First off blankmans behavior to the OW staff was unacceptable. End of. No excuses. Cannot be tolerated. Mrbeep swung his Thor-like hammer and sorted that out. Schweeet.

Now the account. BM is not the first client to complain about that account. It's been problematic and the problems are severe enough for OW to withdraw the product. That in itself is an indication that something is amiss.
(2)

Any feedback contributes to the collective info for us the clients. For me any feedback is welcome.
(3)

During the day I don't usually see my linespeed so I'm unable to provide the running commentary provided by many in here. I was on Telkom previously (last year). No downloading from 8am to 6pm. Nothing. So whatever I get during the day is a bonus.


The rabid dog is still running. Client service has been impeccable. Looking forward to more of the same!

(1) I was open and honest about my actions and behavior, an i have openly apologized, i have accepted that. maybe i was also not handled correctly as a customer . . . . but let me let this one go.

(2) OW have made claims of notifications to Account holders.... (no proof... or proof pending.... honestly i don't think there was)

i have also not received any answers (not the smart a s answers from the devoted few) to any of my questions.

Main Question: If they knew there was problems from the time they Claim they Notified Customers, Why where they still selling it till a few days ago - would you like me to provide proof of this, as i have that as well.

Main Question 2 : Why when asked about account shape or un-shape do you get "contention ratio theory quoted at you" - ( and again not the smart a s answers from the devoted few)

(3) I have done just that, i have informed other users of how OW handle(s) its customers and that they lie to their customer, i have provided proof ..... you all can call me what you want .... the facts are what they are

I will add this to my list of questions, why did i get a PM offering me the use of a Platinum Account with a lying ISP.... - Please let me know if you want the proof of this as i have that too ....... -

OW... MrBeep .... do you offer this to any other complaining customers, to try and keep them quite ??

As nobody has read it before, i did not put it in bold so i will type it in Caps ... I DO NOT WANT AN OW ACCOUNT EVER AGAIN!!!

Clearly i have struck some sensitive nerves for OW and OW Online Staff defending their company and Boss......

What about the other Account holders at OW .... must they accept that OW is not giving them what they have signed up and paid for??

How does OW plan to rectify this for them or must they all ask for refunds .......??

Maybe with some users/customers leaving OW, there will free up some space on their over provided capacity and the devoted few can "Torrent it UP" after hours maybe .....

(as a joke .. do you want me to provide the proof for the torrents too, i don't use torrents but for making a solid point to some of the devoted few like cable dude ..... i am more than willing to provide this as well. )
