Here's a question for anyone in the know -better yet, with experience(?):

Which would you take and why?

1. Shaped 4mb account

or

2. Unshaped 2mb account

Everything seems to be back to normal. I hope there isn't ever a time in the future when businesses open on the same day!

Seems like IS was having issues. MTN network running full steam ahead.

I still wanna know why my 1mbps account is running at 2mbps all of a sudden. Free upgrade or not?

Sheesh .... What a bad day .... Couldn't do anything with OW today. Was advised to switch the router off for 20 minutes ... Really Zelda ... tsk tsk tsk.....

Lets hope that it was just a speed hump ...............

Yep, the network was extremely busy from 13:00

We do expect the extra load to continue for a day or so as everyone catches up on what they missed out on over the holidays.

Soon however all will settle back down

Going by this rule, the list of priorities are Platinum, Gold (Original, Orange, Leon, Love etc.), Gamers, Everyday and then Titan?

What is the difference between the various Gold accounts?

If I understand it correctly the tier goes something like this in order of highest to lowest:

1: Gold Orange
2: Gold Leon
3: Gold Original

Platinum is above everything else and Gamers King is below Gold Leon and Titan is only slightly higher than Everyday or its the other way around Everyday then Titan. I have no idea what the Love service is, maybe its the porno service?

MrBEEP & Other OW reps could we please get a nice breakdown between services? Something like above but with specific details on pro's & con's vs the other services. It is extremely confusing trying to make a good call on where the best package lies in terms of monetary value...

The more expensive the package is, the lower the contention ratio and the higher the priority.

Therefore Gold would be:

Gold (Power)

Just called Telkom and got my line moved from 1MB to 2MB. Will Openweb be upgrading their uncapped accounts for free as well? Just did a speedtest and got a perfect 1.0Mbps

The last that we heard, was a resounding no. Something along the lines of Telkom needing to decrease the IPC costs in order for OpenWeb to upgrade our accounts.

Was things last night a little slower than normal for everyone or was it just me.

I'm on a Gamers Kings 2mb, and for the first time since I joined OW in May 2013, speeds after hours was a little dodgy. I dont care about office hours, as I am at the office, but at night I expect full throttle or close to at least.

Generally I get linespeed after hours, yesterday however I was only getting half and struggling to maintain that even.

Don't know if it has anything to do with me going from a @openweb.co.za to a @mynetwork.co.za account.

Will keep an eye on it tonight and tomorrow.
