Nope, far worse: ajax.googleapis.com is down.

…and this, kids, is why centralising network services is not a good architectural decision.

uh, you missing the point.. its not about mrbeep sitting here 24/7 its aboutt employing someone over weekends to do basic support and not making up stories..

anyway the weekend was good, lets see how this week is during hours...

Believe it or not, I don't think it's MrBeep's job to sit on this thread 24/7 to be at the beck and call of everyone. Sure, it's nice having the guy who owns the ISP take such a deep interest in his customers, but he is also human and he does have an ISP to run!

Far be it from me to leap to his defense though, I would also lose my cool if I had terrible internet for most of a day. As you can see though, he has responded (albeit a bit late) and admitted fault. Most ISPs would just give a generic brush off answer.

Rather it is inaccessible, along with most of the rest of the internet during weekdays, been like that since November 2013.

Even browsing this site takes forever and many of the offsite resources timeout... absolutely disgusting ADSL experience.

When you can't even do a Google search you know its time to move to another ISP. "Shaped when the network is busy"... what happened to the promise that I was given when signing up that only things like game traffic and P2P traffic was shaped? When you shape everything the correct term to use is throttling.

MrBeep please send me details on the cancellation procedure.

my lines completely dead. as a door nail.

had to switch to another ISP to open MYBB... also running at a quarter of the line speed.

i think the story behind the story is that Telkom caught the ISP's completely off guard doubling the line speed and not lowering the IPC cost further. and now the ISP's cant afford to buy more bandwidth to supply in the demand, thus killing the the internet in the day only allowing business customers thats paying a prime rate.

and the poor sods are trampled upon like ants under their feet.

makes complete sense...

As a new subscriber to Openweb, I was hoping to get the speeds the the hyped up advertising promised.

I only get connectivity if I leave my line off (connecting to Telkom instead) for 10 minutes.

Support desk does not answer and two reception ladies tell me that I can only cancel via email. (recordings available)

When I email a cancellation request, I get a reference to a Zendesk link that does not exist.

I understand that my line might be shaped during busy hours, but if I cannot open a Google search page, I get a little disappointed.

Thanks for the insight. I will be trying that ASAP. I did still have my leftover Telkom account and had good speeds there, but this 1gig account looks great as a backup.

Great, now my "Gold" OW account's barely usable after 10am today :(

My 1GB Free Afrihost account's running at full speed. That means that my line is fine and I don't need another port reset.

In conclusion, my "Gold" OW account is either broken or being used by more than 1 user :(

If it doesn't get sorted out permanently, then I'm afraid that I will pack up my stuff and move to another ISP thread :(

Kindly PM me so that I can test your account myself for the rest of the day

Hi,

My OW Gold account is pretty much useless during office hours from about 10ish onwards. All I really need it for during these times is remoting (Teamviewer) and even this isn't possible, the connection is slower than a dial up. I can't work like this and will have to leave OW if it continues to hinder my work. It's fine after hours and weekends.

Can something be done to resolve my issue?

Did 2 speed tests, upload speed averaging 110kbps :(
