Wow these last two days have been awesome! :) If this is what the rest of the year has the potential to be like then a small speed hump like last week can be forgiven. Great service so far MrBEEP! :)

So they got me again with the "TITAN" special.... Is this account supposed to be useless during office hours - even browsing is impossible.....

MrBeep, do you have any trial accounts for the Titan 4mb packages, currently I am on Openweb Gold (Original) 2mb uncapped but I have a 4mb adsl line so looking at moving

Not a good idea.

Titan is an entry level product with a MUCH higher contention ratio and lower priority on the network compared to Gold.

If you are happy with Gold, you will not be happy with Titan.

If you have never had Gold, you will be happy with Titan.

Also not happy, getting one third of my line speed at 10pm on a weekday is just weak.

I've been on Leon Gold 2meg for a few months. After Telkom upgraded my line to 4mbps, I noticed that I was able to download at over 400KB/s, even though it's a 2meg OW account. I was told that this was something OW was testing. Over the last few days, I've been battling to get over 200KB/s on any downloads, is the test phase over?

same thing i noticed, after hours full speeds, but during the day way too much shaping. Mr Beep sorted me out with a trial account and that sits at 240k in downloads after hours and then during the day my browsing is awesome.

Very happy with this account. I dont think we should expect 4mbps from OW for free, there is no ways they can absorb those costs. 2 megs is fine for the price, as long as we can browse during the day as well.

Yes, the test phase has come to a close.

MR beep, I have an idea for you, add turbo charge(unshape for an hour) to your accounts, I'm willing to pay extra if I urgently need to download a file during the day. What do you say?

Hi MrBeep

Just wanting to know, is Steam still considered as P2P?

And, if so, if I let a Steam download run from the morning before leaving work, would my account get severely shaped as before? (To the point where no VPN works and HTML gets around 10kb/s.)

Hi

I would suggest scheduling your downloads (Stream included) for after 19:00 and all weekend. This will ensure no daytime shaping on browsing and similar.

Loving my new Gamers King Uncapped. Openweb is the best ISP I have experienced so far.
