We require a calendar months cancellation notice period.

Please submit the cancellation notice to: cancellations@openweb.co.za

You can however downgrade to a Vanilla Uncapped service, as this is not a promotion: http://www.openweb.co.za/vanilla_uncapped.html

Thanks Mr beep.
Telkom actually have a nice offer....R607.37 include all line rentals (even cheaper then the 2Mbps Standard Uncapped – R209pm, i was looking for).

I will send my cancellation letter shortly.

Hey Mr Beep, I've sent through a ticket to admin[at]openweb.co.za to get our business account sorted - would be great to have an answer by day end as we urgently need to get those fixed IPs sorted.

Thanks!

A quick update.

The impact of this outage should not be very big. However, you might notice some more shaping during busy periods. We do trust though that the issue will be resolved this evening, but as history dictates, with Seacom anything is possible.

Our failover links have however all kicked in properly.

MrBEEP, are we still making use of the failover links ? Or has the upstream issue been resolved ? :)

There are currently no issues on the network.

It is running well below capacity, and is completely unshaped.

Aquadyne, I believe we have advised you to log a fault with Telkom, as your issue appears frequently. Your account has been thoroughly tested by myself, and our engineers, and we can confirm the fault is not related to the account or the network.

Pakka, kindly email support@openweb.co.za so that we can test your account.

Mr BEEP your are incorrect - Telkom did come out on site to test my line during the same time as your team looking into my problem. They gave my line the all-clear.
EA is also looking at it currently.
They asked me to run some tests both locally and to London where the EA Online servers are hosted. Those same tests I posted here.

So no, it is not Telkom and the tests are way below par as you can see.

I await feedback from EA, but it seems they will refer me back to my ISP based on those tests.

Again, Telkom did look at the line and tested it on-site with me present. It's not the line.

In accept that you & your team did look into the problem extensively and did numerous tests and I am grateful for that. BUT the problem is still there, and it seems I am not the only one.

I will consider the matter closed by OPENWEB until I can come up with more information that will help.

Have you tried using a new router?

We have many many gamers using EA as we speak, and it is running as it should.

We even dedicated this fault to our most senior engineer, and he could not find an issue.

We moved you to a different network, which does not run via Internet Solutions, yet the issue persists.

What you can also try is using your account on a different router, and a different PC and a different line, perhaps at the office or a friend / family members place to rule out all possibilities.

I am just waiting for feedback from EA, then I will follow up on the above suggestions.

If you recall, I always maintained that my downloads were performing very well, it was just the gaming side.

Also waiting for a new router to be delivered, will keep as a spare if not the cause.

I am happy with all that has been done to sort this problem out, I sincerely appreciate the efforts of you and your team. As I've stated before, it might very well be an EA issue - as other players across the globe also experienced these symptoms, but during the course of last year. And always it points to a connection problem.

Last night I was playing EA Most Wanted online and it was great. Seems to be isolated to EA BF3 on PS3 Platform for me.

Got a trail account but I cant even surf. I reactivated my adsl and busy testing isp's.

I have put the details supplied into the router. Internet light is green on router. But everything just times out. Did I forget to do something?

At this rate the trail will be over before its even started!

Oh the hep desk guy gave me dns of 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4. But that doesn't help either.

Edit: 48hr account so 1.5 days left I think.

Hi akescpt,

Please call Telkom on 10210 and have them verify your line.

Can you access www.telkom.co.za?

If so, it means your line has not been verified.

Also check these settings in your router:

VPI: 8
VCI: 35
PPPoE
LLC

Hi MrBeep,

I am having an issue with your DNS servers, when I set to 168.210.2.2 and 196.14.239.2 nothing resolves, but if I switch to 8.8.8.8, works perfectly.

Can't ping the servers and nslookup not able to connect to the servers, it happened yesterday then started working again now this morning it is doing it again.

Are IS currently experiencing issues with their DNS servers?

Hi Mr Beep,

Is there a reason I cannot stream youtube on 720p on OpenWeb I switched from Mweb to OpenWeb and never had streaming issues on 720p but now it just buffers every 10 seconds. On a Silver uncapped account syncing on 6mb.

Thx

Did you try one of the following DNS settings:

Primary DNS: 168.210.2.2
Secondary DNS: 8.8.4.4

Primary DNS: 196.14.239.2
Secondary DNS: 8.8.4.4

Primary DNS: 8.8.8.8
Secondary DNS: 8.8.4.4

One of them should improve things.
