Having problems since the weekend with youtube videos. Keeps buffering on 720p. Never had that problem before. Everything else is fine, even getting full speed on downloads and latency is good.

There was a problem with torrents last night due to two Telkom links going down in Cape Town. All should now be resolved.

For the past week or so torrents have become really bad during the day. I can pretty much forget about pulling any torrents during business hours because they run at sub-5kbps. I was struggling with a torrent just now, then switched to an Mweb account and it runs full speed.

Playing Guild Wars 2 during the day has been completely impossible for the last few weeks, at least when there's a lot of players in the vicinity.

I'm only on vanilla so it could just be that it's lower priority than other stuff on the network, but vanilla does mention "suitable for gaming" on the website -- just doesn't say *when* it's suitable for gaming -- so I thought I'd check. Is this expected?

Hi eremos,

Kindly email support@openweb.co.za with your ADSL username so that we can investigate.

There is currently a known issue in the Cape Town / Western Cape area. Engineers are attending to this.

I really don't think that less than 2kB for torrents during the day is anywhere near good enough for a Gold account. This is not what I was lead to believe and not like my trial account experince. I'm moving next week & if it doesn't improve by then...

I have to restart my router every time just before I log in to GW2, otherwise it just never logs in. Other than that, I can't really complain about GW2 performance.

Oh, wow. I think I know what you mean. I just went to Lion's Arch and latency is so high there that if I press attack it literally attacks 20-30 seconds later. Is that what's happening your side.

Hi Zewp

Are you based in the Western Cape area? Or elsewhere in the country?

Hi Mr Beep

I sent an email through to you & the support email. I signed up for a standard 2mb account on promo but i've had issues from day one. My account is being shaped to dial up speeds on torrents with 1000+ seeds, browsing is a pain staking experience. This only happens during office hours, other than that i'm happy.

Thing is, i've had my account changed twice with the same issue. I get between 3 to 15kB/s on torrents, emails take forever to come through. I understand it's a standard account & is subject to shaping but to the point where basic browsing is an issue is pathetic. I'd understand if it was shaped to half, even a quarter of the speeds but under 15kB/s on a 2mb line is totally unacceptable.

Thank You. My Telkom port needed resetting three times? I was assigned with two new accounts with exactly the same issue every time.

Hi Del Piero 10,

We tried using different routing for you first. Now we have tried a port reset. If this doesnt work, we will move you to an entirely different network. If this does not work, you will need to look at using a different router. If your issues still persists, you would need to log an official fault on your Telkom line.

At the end of the day, the fault will be resolved.
