I can't connect atm and since last night some time. Internet light just stay unlit, not even red. Is there some problem I am not aware of, or is it only me?

What router are you using? Netgear? Sounds like a telkom issue.
 
Does openweb provide higher priority to local traffic?

I often find that i have full 440kbps local but only 80-150kbps international.
 
Turns out Telkom has been sending me two different accounts for the same number and that my payments have been going to the wrong one. Sorted now after a lengthy phone call. :/

I do like though how they often say an issue will be resolved within 30 minutes to an hour and then is almost instantly fixed.

Ah got to love phoning telkom... toooo dooo too doooooooooo...... :sick: glad its fixed
 
Same issues yet again, was working great until about 9:30 then boom, performance wall, can't stream video, speedtest.net cant even load the test, keeps throwing errors and the one time I did manage to run it, my 2 mb line ran at 0.01 mb lol.... This is not shaping, this is a joke!

Btw According to the Seacom website, they have sorted most of the issues and have sorted other alternatives. This should mean that OW doesn't need to do draconian shaping on Gold accounts anymore?!
 
Was busy updating my guild wars 2 which I haven't played in ages and speeds dropped from 600kb/s to 20kb/s :cry:

I had the same issue yesterday and having it today. My GW2 client was also downloading at 20 kb/sec.
 
Considering I'm on a Gamers King (downloaders bling) 10Mb account is even scarier, ranging between 16kb/s - 56kb/s
 
must say that even though im shaped severly during the day i can still game so im happy like a pig in...

Try justifying those speeds when you are paying for 'unshaped'. Pity I already paid for next month but thankfully it will be my last
 
No issues here.
1mbps Gold uncapped (customer for about 3 years now)

http downloads -> 100%
browsing -> as brisk as ever
youtube streaming -> 360 no problems (480 needs about 30 secs buffering, then it's fine all the way through)
torrents -> don't do

Gaming not using right now, so not currently important.

Again, if I didn't check MyBB, I wouldn't have been any the wiser to the seacom problems.
 
Feels like I'm being heavily shaped/ throttled (call it what you want, my speed still slows dramatically) at the moment.... Imgur, Reddit, International Sites taking an age to load.

First time working from home since switching from Mweb to Openweb... but on Mweb speeds seemed consistent throughout the day. Mr Beep - any problems at the moment?
