No issues here.
1mbps Gold uncapped (customer for about 3 years now)

http downloads -> 100%
browsing -> as brisk as ever
youtube streaming -> 360 no problems (480 needs about 30 secs buffering, then it's fine all the way through)
torrents -> don't do

Gaming not using right now, so not currently important.

Again, if I didn't check MyBB, I wouldn't have been any the wiser to the seacom problems.

See, that grinds me, I don't understand why somea accounts are being selectively shaped to cr@p whilst others are fine.... I am barely getting 10 kb/ sec now during the day on a 2 mb gold...
 
Hey MrBeep,

Are there any issues on the network because Gmail is taking forever to load.
 
I would be happy getting even 200kb/s which is less then 1/4 line speed, at least then my game will be ready to play when I get home, unfortunately this is a huge update because I haven't played much and left it to gather dust for a while.
 
All slow for me too in JHB - 2Mb Gold Uncapped :(

Something just went wrong, I'm down to 0.5kb/s - 7.5kb/s :mad:
 
Have to agree with you guys, something isn't quite right with international connectivity at the moment. Local is blazing fast, but international is very slow only for downloading. International browsing is still fast.

At the moment I can't even get a speed test to run. I'm sure it will be sorted soon though.
 
Switched router off for 30mins and speeds are back up again :)
 
Well something is definitely wrong on some accounts. I bought a 50GB capped account to keep me going while MWEB were crawling. It was fast over the weekend, but today I can't get more than 512kbps out of it locally and internationally. My Gold unshaped uncapped account however, is flying.

Both are on 4mbps lines.

I have emailed openweb support about it, but it almost seems as though I'm being throttled during business hours... after all, I had the very same problem with the Gold account when I first got it. I had to email support about it and it's been fine ever since - even during the outage.
 
It is Seacom's Mediterranean cable that got cut. Question then is how can some accounts be flying and others be terrible? Mine certainly is terrible atm.

Back to dial-up speeds again but then again some web pages are not loading at all :(
