I have tested both your account and HTTP is downloading at pretty much full speed.

Kindly have Telkom recreate your ports, then switch off both routers for 10 minutes and provide feedback.

I've done both now, but they're both worse off. Will check speeds again at 5:01pm...

Are downloads being capped at a certain speed on silver uncapped accounts? When I'm downloading I can reach 700kbps almost instantly, but from there it crawls up to 715kbps then just hovers there.

I have an 8mb account and my line is synced at 10mbs. So I should not have any issue getting max account speed.
 
I don't think it matters. As I understand it (and maybe Mr Beep can confirm) it looks at what is happening on the network and then, within the account type (and yes, presumably line/account speed), it adjusts the various protocols to effectively prioritise the "light" ones (http, email) and de-prioritise the "heavier" ones (NNTP, P2P, FTP, etc). But importantly, everyone within the same account type and line/account speed (all else being equal) would experience the same amount of shaping regardless of their previous usage.

Apologies if my reply came across as dismissive.

That makes sense and if it's true, then that's cool - it just seems (based on what I read here) that some people appear to be shaped more than others. Admittedly though, not all the details are presented so its more opinion than fact.

Hard to read tone from text, so could've been me being hormonal :P

I upgraded yesterday from 2Mbps vanilla to 4Mbps Vanilla (still waiting for my details!). The debit order for the 2Mbps account has already gone off though. Will I have to pay for both accounts for this month now, or will you just charge the extra?

I did log a ticket regarding this and regarding my new details.

No connection all day today! OpenWeb support sent me new login details(after many hours), still won't authenticate :( Still waiting for a response...

Afrihost account working fine, line stats are good, got port reset from Telkom.

@MrBEEP - Please advise asap.

Have you tried switching your modem off and on again? Sometimes takes a few restarts before it authenticates in my experience.

Yep, tried that many times. Also tried different modem, same problem.

EDIT: Working again now :)

I see Leoni explained to you that you purchased a new account, you did not request an upgrade, thus the delay.

Kindly reply to her response to have this resolved.

I am not clear what I should do if I just want an upgrade? But anyway, I did just mail her explaining that it was intended to be an upgrade. Sorry for the confusion.
 
Mr Beep... Is there still Latency and connection Issues in the WC area... i'm struggeling with >250ms latency.

My Online gaming is suffering :(

Can you please look at my account. I'm starting to experience the same issues I had before.

I have already had Telkom reset my port but still the same issues.

Ditto here like Zambo001 for very bad latency (to WOW servers). Also from Western Cape (Cape Town Northern Suburbs). Something like 1600ms to 3000ms. Happend Monday at exactly this time and now again. Isn't congestion: to exchange is 150ms. Is there something wrong with IS network? Are they doing maintenance now? Something still wrong with Seacom?

WebAfrica running @ 75%.

Definitely something wrong in the matrix.

Ok, it has been more than four hours since I responded. My old account can't connect anymore, so I assume it has now been deactivated, but I still haven't received my new account details? I am posting this from my phone and my airtime is running out.
