We have had quit a few tickets today where a Telkom port recreate resolved the problem.
There are no general issues currently, and our test lines in all regions are performing really well

About 300Kb/s on a After Hours uncapped unshaped 10 Meg line. was full speed at 5pm. Same thing last night.

Tonight is the first time I have been properly shaped on my standard 4Mbit account since I've had it (nntp down to 100KB/s). I was expecting it though, been using nntp a wee bit more than usual

Surely you are not shaped on an individual basis, but rather the whole network is taken into consideration and shaping then applied dynamically based on that ?

Correct. You are shaped by region depending on how busy the network is in your region.

very happy with my standard service. although tempted by the gamer's special. just scared i switch. what if it sux and i cant go back!!!!

If you are allowed to switch: The gamer special is a standard account normally, but gaming is prioritised 24/7 and after hours you get downloads at Gold uncapped levels. Can't be worse.

Shaping is affected by area and I am in Welkom, so I might have been fortunate to get good pings, though afaik this is pretty normal. I got these after hours on my Vanilla account, but now get these during the day as well. To be clear, local ping has been as low as 19ms, but usually on the servers where there are actually other people I get around 40ms, which is still perfectly fine. Even 200ms is not that bad.

Location has a lot to do with latency. You could change over and your pings might stay the same.

i need to do more testing i guess. i just log on and play!!
this is what im afraid of. im able to play now but after the game i see that my connection is just yellow and the other okes is green and full! so i have mostly no lag but wondering if my latency is affecting my kills. if a guy is on green and im on yellow/red he will kill me before i can fire i reckon.
