No, it is always fine before 8am and after 5pm on weekdays. And no problem on weekends.

Same here, stuck at 50KB/s and i'm on gold :| thankfully my last month of this crap

The network is under a larger than normal strain because of the new release everyone is legally downloading.

Thanks. Everything else seems okay, YouTube, browsing, etc is all smooth.

Have you actually notified your current 4MB Uncapped, UNSHAPED Clients that they will not be getting the UNSHAPED part they are paying for?!?

Shaping is not 'hammering' anyone. It is managing you according to your contention ratio, priority on the network and how busy the network is at that specific time.

If a Gold client is experiencing very slow speeds, there is more than likely something wrong, and we will need to investigate. However, if the fault is simply torrents that are slow, or NNTP that is slow during peak, then there is not much we can do, as shaping will be applied during peak periods.

If the account is unshaped their experience will be unshaped. What don't you understand?

My line works perfectly well with an Afrihost capped account during the day. And with anything http my 4MB Gold account is acceptable. Unfortunately, from time to time I require the use of non-http protocols during working hours. And for that the account becomes totally useless. If it was half or third the speed that would be no problem at all. But crippled is just not acceptable.

How does a SHAPED account policy have ANYTHING to do with the Gold Unshaped? You're confused.

I must say I also saw something weird yesterday.

At 22:55 my torrents were crawling at 50kb/s, but at 23:00 suddenly full line speed.

Haven't tested today, but makes a person think.
