The Western Cape region is busier than normal, thus shaping will be applied until it quietens down.

Please remember, shaping is dynamic. We do not change anything, the system adapts dynamically to available capacity.

Thats not good, I just signed up for 10Mbps....hopefully it quietens down by the time my line gets upgraded.

I've got my username and password. But where or how do I check the amount of data I used?

I just signed up again ;)

Polar accounts seem to be doing well on NNTP - NICE! :)

Same problem here. Swapped to my previous Username and all is well again

i unfortunately don't have a previous username.. mrbeep "rerouted" my account a week ago and its been perfect since then until an hour ago. even local sites won't load if there's an international component, like IOL sits and says "waiting for www.google.com"

will try again later, hopefully just a blip...

I'm always told to 'recreate port' with Telkom (10210) which seems to do the trick. Not sure why this is needed- OW say account is 100% but I can't even load google :(

Could be an exchange error?

resetting the port helps when there's a problem on the line, but i'm on my backup afrihost account now and everything is perfect, so its not an exchange error...

I have reset this account for you. I see Leon is also working on it.

My connection died about 30 mins ago. Router shows I am connected but nothing coming through.
On Gold.

Is there a problem is the Edenvale area?

Having to tether through my cell now cause I got work to do.

Ah, found this thread. See im not the only user experiencing issues with the Gold uncapped account. This account has been running flawlessly for many months, until now that is. In the last 3 weeks, the account has become almost unusable during daytime hours. Very slow browsing (2kb/s MAYBE), lots of timeouts. And then at around 6-7PM everything reverts back to full speed. It almost feels like an 'after hours' account that I was on previously.

I cant justify spending almost R800 for an account thats not usable in the day. If it was a problem for a day or two, I would still understand, but I think something has changed behind the scenes. I mailed openweb support today, lets see what the response is.

I suspect this issue could be out of Openwebs hands, and something is happening IS.

Well I too had this problem, and after testing Plugg for a few days I cancelled and moved over. They are also on IS, and no longer am I unable to enjoy the Internet during the day.

Drove me nuts as I always had OW issues when working from home.

Other accounts work fine, so I now use the Telkom Simple 5GB as dial up connection when I need to work from home.

Yet OW/IS beats other SAIX accounts I've tried when it comes to downloading.

Weird.

You are or you aren't able to enjoy the Internet during the day??

If this is an IS wide problem, just get a cheap SAIX account for browsing/light use when needed.

Have you emailed [email protected]

If so, have they come back with a solution, as this is not Standard practise for Gold.

I am and have been having the exact same issues in the Western Cape the last few days with the same package. During the day the line is slow as hell. Right now All you guys do is reset the port, which has no effect at all. I checked with Telkom the line is syncing fine and there are no exchange issues. It seems that this is either an IS or Openweb account issue.

Kindly PM me your username so that I can take a look.

Btw, how do you check your data usage for Open Web?

I went to the webpage, client login, used my username and password, and all it shows is my account and personal details?
Or is there a specific place to login?
