OpenWeb ADSL Feedback Thread

I sent the details of the IS SR to someone there now to check their call records. Unfortunately the IS support person called me on my cell so I do not have a recording of the call. I am sure if they look at the SR the truth will be made clear.

I believed what the guy on the other side of the line said, since my tests showed that with an MWEB account on the exact same line everything worked the way it should have.

Bul&*@%%ing I am not!

Well if that is true it is serious swak style from IS no matter what. They should not be communicating any account information directly to customers. Openweb is the support channel and should be the primary support channel.

My accounts also have not been throttled before, I've had both the standard and gold accounts and neither hinted at throttling (shaping yes, but not throttling).

Thank you. Kindly PM me with more information.

Also please include your OpenWeb ADSL username

Hi Guys

OK, here is the call I finally found it. I would love to hear your response to my bull$%^##ing now if you would be so kind patrick123 :D

We would appreciate it if you could PM me with the requested details so that we can investigate as to why you were given this information. If you provide us with your previous OpenWeb ADSL username, we will be able to submit it to IS for a quicker result to the investigation.

As we do not resell the stock standard IS products on the market, what the agent told you is completely irrelevant to the OpenWeb service you were apparently using.

I don't have to PM you. Instead, anyone interested in listening to the conversation, please PM me and I will give you the link to call recording.

I love the use of the word "apparently". Is that the same as:
- "apparently" someone from IS called me and told me the my 10mbit Openweb uncapped account is "apparently" not truly uncapped, and thus I might "apparently" have been a victim of false advertising?

I would prefer to leave it at that. I have now sent two (unanswered) requests to [email protected] to have the account cancelled and will wait for the response from your (seemingly non existent) accounts department to confirm that the account has in fact been cancelled.

send it to [email protected]

It was sent to cancellations as told by one of the friendly help desk staff. I was told once to send to admin, and on another occasion to send to cancellations since "the accounts department does not have a direct number", thus you are not able to call someone in accounts which is fine I guess.

Stop being a tosser and send MrBeep the details he kindly asked for. OpenWeb buys capacity from IS, then they apply their own shaping and restrictions to the accounts. IS should not be calling you at all, because IS is not your ISP, Openweb is.

edit: The guy in the call tells you about the IS star rating. Openweb does not make use of the IS star rating.

Have done 54GB thus far this month, have done well over 250GB in a month before on 4Mbps Gamer King. Zero throttling ensued.

My usage higher than normal this month too, sitting at just over 200GB already. Was still getting 1MB/sec last night but will monitor and see what happens when I really push it :D

I'm afraid I cannot further assist if you refuse to PM me further information.

I am sorry you feel this way. It was not my intention to upset you.

I think it was his intention to get upset.

Heh, I am pretty sure Openweb is also affected by the IS star rating system, all IS accounts are, and I can feel the affects of it being on a single star.

Oh you think that is a lot? Try 383GB that I am already. During the day my account is mostly unusable, and then it also goes only half speed after hours.

If that looks funny, it is because I run my own billing on the account, because Openweb doesn't allow usage checking on it via their portal.

Not so sure about that. MrBeep can turn shaping on/off at specific times, so he has at least some measure of control over it.

pls explain the billing thing a bit more...no idea whats going on there in that pic.

He usually say its turned off over weekends when there actually is not shaping anyways, I have access to other ISP's IS based r seller accounts too so that is how I compare them. They all seem the same to me, if the account is on the same star and the same profile level.

That pic basically just shows you my traffic usage on the account I use, so 383GB for this month, what it estimates I will use in the month (1.1TB) if I go on at this speed, and then the graphs shows the daily usage.

Interesting. Thanks for the feedback, how many different ISPs have you tried out (and looks like you really give them a go) and how do they compare?
