Anyone else having Youtube streaming problems? Struggling to get it to work at 360p.
In fact it's the whole internet. Can't even get Speedtest to load. Youtube not working at 144p now. Everything is painfully slow.

??????????????????????????????

Edit: Just had to restart the modem. Download SNR was horrible. Just needed to resync.

Move along now, nothing to see here....

I too am experiencing streaming issues on Twitch and Youtube. Will keep on monitoring it till tomorrow. If it doesn't improve, I'll contact MrBEEP.

Same, did a reset, no help.

Are you by any chance located in the Gauteng area ? It seems as if there is something completely haywire with the routing of my account. My latency is extremely high for a weird reason. Last night I was pinging 14ms to Jhb servers, now it's 108ms :wtf:

Something is completely screwed on Telkom's network somewhere between Bloem and Jhb.

Nah I'm in Cape Town, Southern Suburbs.

Also hasn't been a good weekend for Twitch here. 2Mbit, Cape Town Southern Suburbs. Everything else works well, browsing and downloads. Twitch has been buffering on medium and I've been used to it working flawlessly on high.

Will see what the new week brings. :)

I'm afraid twitch will continue having issues until twitch themselves wake up and fix their issues.

They have far too many users, and their infrastructure cannot cope.

We have set twitch on top priority yet it still buffers. Then again, when I use an LTE device on Vodacom, the same issue.

I'm afraid there is not much we can do. All we can advise is for clients to email twitch on mass, not that you would receive anything more than an automatic reply. We tried.

Mr. Beep - have PM'd you regarding tech service breakdown and mailed Charmaine this morning.

The connectivity was fantastic this weekend - thank you.

Interesting, I've never had a problem with Twitch on OpenWeb 2Mbit up until last weekend, and I never any problems with MWEB 1Mbit. Last weekend was quiet, around 100,000 viewers tops, as there were no LoL or Dota 2 tournaments.

When there are huge tournaments, it's normally the chat that breaks, I've never experienced lag due to 400,000 viewers online.

You can google twitch issues. Numerous clients the world over are having issues. Sometimes you are lucky and connect to a good server and streaming is perfect...other times you get buffering even on low.

Twitch really DO need to upgrade and improve their systems.

This! I gave up watching SC2 on Twitch 2 months ago. FU Twitch!

Okay… weird one for y'all today:

International SSH & PING are deader than a dodo.

Can PING & SSH to South African sites without any problems.

All other protocols appear to be unaffected. (e.g. HTTP, HTTPS, IMAPS, POP3S, SMTP, IRC etc. etc.)

I've emailed support but seeing as we can't get any work done till this is sorted out I may as well spend some time bitching and moaning about it! :-)

Speeds are extremely slow this morning. 20kb/s (1mb line) on local and international :(

Your latency is too high. Generally, when you experience high latency, it shows a Telkom or router fault.

Our shaping device never adds latency whilst performing its functions.

Kindly PM me so that I can take a look. Please include a tracert result to www.openweb.co.za

What's up with Openweb this morning?
Last night i was getting really great speeds, and low pings.
This morning speeds have just gotten lower and lower and pings just sky-rocketed.

The network is busy today thus shaping will be applied.

We expect things to quieten down after around 19:00 tonight.
