Rant incoming....
Due to circumstances I found myself at home today. Was ohk till I needed to remote into my work PC. Cytrix doesn't even use alot of bandwidth. I couldn't even get to the damn login page.
Now after 5 and unshaped weekends is all fine and well but to have a unusable connection is unacceptable. My damn line is idle most days. It's idle as we speak. My downloads from last night didn't finish before 8 as usual. I let it run. Little did I know it would fsuck up my day. I had to go into work. 50km bloody round trip. Last i checked I had a gamers king not a damn after hours account. This BS needs to stop.
People talk about having backup accounts but it shouldn't be needed. Today was the first day I regretted being with OW. I'm still pi$$ed. Weighing up my options. Can't have a connection that works properly after hours. The world carries on during the day as well.

I had this issue a few weeks ago, and hounded them till they fixed it. I really don't see why this happens. I agree, DOWNLOADS should be shaped during the day, but nothing else. MrBeep, this is a common problem, surely there should be a fix? I don't really think a capped portion is the answer. I wouldn't want to connect to two accounts.
That said, my account is running perfectly, touch wood.
Anyone else having issues with Twitch.tv? A few months back I could stream 'High' every night, it's now mostly impossible and I'm forced to watch medium. Tonight even medium stutters(Gamer's delight 4mb)
Capped TI account streaming on high perfectly.
Ye that's common, it works a bit better towards the later evenings but even now its stuttering every now and then. (4mb gold)

My Uncapped 4Meg Gamer's BLing Account
Its so bad this page took 2 minutes to load! Its been coming on for a while now. Every time the service gets slower and feel the shaping on P to P.
However from this Weekend everything is throttled hell i am getting best speed 0.40mbits on speed test! When i mailed Leon and sent the Speed Test report i was told ..."Unfortunately these test's are extremely inaccurate" .. use a local server to test!
That pretty much put the nail in the coffin for me! I logged on to Afrihost and use there free gig to test the "Inaccurate" nature of the test and i get stunning results!
So i normally rave about Open-Web but ...at this juncture in time there ADSL service is really bad and i cannot recommend them! I have cancelled my account.
It's 01:00 and i cant even create a backup of my sites via FTP from Hetzner.. i get 44 kB/s on my 4 meg line! Hell everything is running at that speed!

I contacted them via there support channel and got a response ... just not what i was expecting... The worst part is you don't know you usage so cant gauge what is considered breaking point for AUP rules!
I am starting to think this is intentional to avoid people moving to better capped services from other companies if your usage is low enough!
I cannot even access Open-Web's website at this point ... it times out!
Based on my analysis using various tools ... i would say my account is being throttled down to 1:10th of its capacity and no i am not Bandwidth hog... if i used 5 gigs in the last 4 days it would have been a lot!
Unfortunately i use this line for work as well and this cost me time when i cant get things done!

Is it just me, or is there something wrong with OW's mail server ? Since last night I haven't been able to retrieve any email. MrBEEP can you please look into it ? Thanks

Twitch works fine on one day and not the next. As explained before, we have made many attmepts to contact them to have this resolved, however, receiving their auto reply responses were not beneficial.
I believe most ISPs in the world suffer from inconsistent twitch. Google it.

I dont think you are getting terrible speeds. I just think you do not want to accept that during peak times shaping will be on.
I accepted that a long time ago and couldnt be happier.
Move to AH. They have a GREAT shaping system. 24/7 shaping without stop. No thanks.

Everyday Uncapped comes in below Vanilla. There seems to be a demand for a high contention type service with low low pricing. We have listened and created Everyday Uncapped.
It more or less matches the cheap contentions our competitors are introducing. Luckily for OpenWeb clients, you will not be forced to use it, as we do still offer Gold and similar with decent contentions
