Okay so now I am back again. Two days ago I mentioned that I come here often to speak to MrBEEP about my unstable 4Mbps Gold account. He then replaces the account and it's better for a few days before it returns to @#$%. I thought it could be the Telkom exchange, but I did a traceroute and everything seems fine.

So basically during daytime my internet is hardly usable. It took me almost a minute to open this page. What is up?

One way traffic and sometimes stuff that you can't get on torrents. Also, SSL and no snooping by other organizations. That said, it's no guarantee that it's foolproof. Also, sickbeard is a pretty slick solution to making it all simple - it does the downloading for you as stuff becomes available.

Same issue here, was happening on my 10mbps now also on my 4mbps. Was given a different account while they where testing, then went back to the old account after a while started again.

Speedtest to IS server works great when I was on the IS account but to any other servers gets stuck at 1mbps, now on MTN and same thing.

Another issue I am having is I cannot stream netlifx, hulu or lovefile, but works fine on my FNB account.

Busy testing other ISP's sadly....

Uncapped Gold Leon working perfectly here. How's your SNR and Attenuation?
 
SNR and Attenuation is not applicable I believe (correct me if I am wrong) because I get flying speeds after 5. I understand that there should be shaping in business hours, but for browsing?!?! And it should definitely not be THIS slow!

My exchange is not even in a business area. So it should be congested after hours and on weekends. I have actually tested this and it's true. There is a thread with someone else on my exchange proving this as well.

I never had this issue with Mweb, but there are obvious reasons why I had to leave.

Looks like I spoke too soon. HTTP downloads are limited to 40kb/s and trace routes are very erratic with high pings on random hops on each test.

Doesn't seem like the service I should receive on a gold account?

Was given an unshaped account last night, speeds where great to websites etc, but Streaming from Netflix, Hulu, Lovefilm and a few others where terrible.

Somethings not right....
 
I have a standard 4meg uncapped, it's strange because speedtest shows everything as 100%, yet youtube won't load videos, it took 3 minutes to refresh a page here, I tried downloading the patch for cod ghosts and it told me 600 minutes for a 175MB download.

Switch over to my Telkom account, the patch took 6-8 minutes, youtube currently running at 720p with no buffering and sites are loading...

So what the heck is going on with this?!?!?
 
hi, this has been ask before.. Did a search and it was a while back so not sure if still valid. I am not on here very often, so I miss all the announcements.

I'm on the Uncapped Gold, original. What's the difference between that and the Uncapped Orange? I see the uncapped orange is cheaper. Is it the contention ratio? Is the original less shaped?

I see Telkom's offering is vastly cheaper, what's the difference?

Hi

The less you pay, the higher your contention ratio and the lower your priority on the network.

We have a matching product to theirs, but unfortunately it matches their contention as well:

I'm also on a unshaped 200gb capped account and things are crawling for me here. Steam patches are not getting more than 200kb on a 10mb line and account. Mr Beep help please! This cannot be right. Things have been awesome until today.

I have given up with openweb, they keep telling me it is a telkom issue, I just decided screw that cut my losses and move back to afrihost. Everything is running smoothly again, my netflix isn't giving me any issues anymore, I don't have daytime issues anymore. I'm happy as can be. My biggest mistake was to move to openweb. Thanks Afrihost for always being there with a reliable service :)

Where are all these '1' post wonders coming from? Did a drain overflow?

99% of your 12 posts are badmouthing Openweb. Very suspicious if you ask me.

I am really happy you left. Less moaning on this thread, and more moaning on the AH thread. I pity the guys over there.

Naturally, my account is still flying. Airbus A380 comes to mind, but that is too slow to describe my Gold.

Hey MrBeep,

I'm really enjoying the experience with Hero Uncapped. I haven't had to switch my router off for 2 weeks now. That's how awesome this package is. Will the Hero Uncapped package ever return?
