Nah, their Client Support has gone to ground .... Dane is not answering my emails ..... so much for Client Support. I cannot even authenticate into mine since Sunday let alone getting unstable speeds .... guess cancelling is the only way to go :(

I emailed them yesterday and Leon replied in 20 minutes with a resolution to my issue.
Have you tried emailing them again...?

I can assure you all mails sent to our official support address [email protected] is attended to continuosly and ALL are replied to.

I monitor this personally.

I feel our support guys are pretty good compared to some of the lovely folks at the large corporate companies!

As per my PM reply to you, I have been personally connected to your account since 12 today and it is working fine. I am getting around 1Mbps on downloads currently.

Please ask Telkom to recreate your port.

Well like i said im on a 3g dongle at the moment because my 4mb openweb cant even load gmail
 
This is not true. We are the first to admit when there is an issue. However, we will not take the blame if it is Telkoms fault.

If the account works perfectly on our 12 x test lines across the country, but not on your specific line, the solution is pretty clear.



Yeah, must be, openweb is never at fault, it's always Telkom.
 
Was on afrihost 2mb std uncapped and moved to a 2mb leon uncapped gold .
Now i cant even watch youtube videos (on 144p) during the day . They only time this account performs is on weekends
and sometimes after hours.
FAR FROM GOLD. so i have submitted cancellation request.
and it's not telkom my other accounts are working fine.
Giving Afrihost business uncapped a try , R100 more but wtd.
 
MeBeep, nothing but smiles this end. Going like a Boeing on the weekend, and getting around 70kB/s on torrents during the day today and youtube/http traffic seems to be running full speed even though it is office hours. Keep it up!

So when i get 400kb/s at EXACTLY 5pm to EXACTLY 8am, and 10kbs the rest of the day thats not due to your SHAPER??

Oh and by the way Leon reset the account a while ago so that may be why you were getting the blazing fast 1mb on a 4mb account

Something is seriously wrong with their network / shaper.

Haven't downloaded anything at all from about 11:00 today so according to support, I should be browsing at full speed. Get home from work, fire up the internet, don't download a thing and try browsing.

50KB/s. CNN, facebook, timeslive, imgur.
10mbp/s account.

Netflix, youtube - UNSTREAMABLE

What gives?

Funny thing, MrBeep. You say when you test it, it works perfectly fine. That might be true at the time/hour you test it, but when the time on the clock hits 8AM all our internet speeds drop rock-bottom, but no, no one ever mentions that do they now, neither do you or your company or your so-called tech support. We are just supposed to suck it up or go to another ISP if we are not happy with this drastic shaping or throttling, well I for one are fed up with all the excuses and the poor service I'm receiving this is not the service i was promised when i joined since day 1.

If i knew that my internet was going to be this poor i would never have signed up for this nonsense. At least one thing i can say about MWEB they never shaped or throttled me until they came up with the idea of their 'usage policies'.

You as OPENWEB had a good name like MWEB too once, but you are beginning to mess it up for yourselves and at the end of the day you are losing customers to TELKOM and AFRIHOST. Lets face it people always talked good about you and your ISP, MrBeep and everyone at OPENWEB was so full of themselves telling me how awesome and nice OPENWEB works but im telling everyone who reads this DONT GO TO OPENWEB EVER as their service is pathetic even their customer support and call center is useless as can be. When you need them the most their call center is closed for the day and you are forced to either message here or email or w/e but no you cant call them and talk to someone.

If you dont fix this mess im going to cancel this subscription just as fast i've got it. There are hundreds more of ISPs out there, OPENWEB is not the alpha and the omega of the internet.

This is 5pm at night and my internet is still as lovely as can be. Im paying for 1mb/s line not this nonsence.

 
Its never Openweb its always Telkom. That should be their company logo or something.

I have a weird "connection" at the moment, browsing and nntp is fine, but I cannot download emails and teamviewer doesn't connect.. anyone else experiencing port specific connection issues ?

My internet went off on Sunday.

I e-mailed Openweb. The gave me a new account to log into.

Tonight I have no access again. My new account is not valid anymore.

I can log into my old account, but there is no internet access.

I emailed them again. So far no reply not even from their automated response system.

I phone their help-line .... It only operates until 17:00.

It seems to me that Openweb is being run from somebody's garage !!!!!!
