OpenWeb ADSL Feedback Thread

In that case, I'm going to set my email client to send out emails to Openweb every 10 seconds for the next year. :p
 
i dunno why.. my line has down synced to 2mb line :S from original 4mb, and my area supported up to 8mb.. which is very frustrating.. need to call telkom to sort it out..
but however.. even with 2mb line.. with the my gold uncapped 4mb account.. i can only dl 50kb/s from webspace like uploaded.to/turbobit.. any suggestiong? it's been like this for like since that apple ios6 update... :/

the download speed was full on 450kb/s before.. 2 weeks ago i got strike by lightning, network card fried, so i am using some cheap wireless adaptor.. but i highly doubt that's an issue.. cos even i hook up cable on my laptop, still same issue.. 20-50kb/s..
 
This definitely sounds like a Telkom line or hardware issue. I would suggest you call them on 10210 to have this resolved.

Our networks are running so beautifully, with low latency and screaming fast downloads! You are missing out on so much bobopenguin!

So I put in a cancellation during October and confirmed that my accounts will run until end of November. Lo and behold, today both accounts seem to be cancelled. While I'm glad that the cancellation was apparently brought forward, the lack of communication meant that my office had no Internet access on the most important day of the month for us.
 
Hi everyone, i am thinking about signing up with open web.

Do they do any throttling at all on the uncapped accounts?

We work based on how busy the network is at any given time. Generally, office hours downloads and similar are shaped (depending on which package and service level you take). After hours and on weekend, we try and unshape matters as far as possible, irrelevant of whether you have done 1GB or 1TB

We do NOT throttle.

Ok, i like that..... going to go through the thread and if there are no major issues i will sign up.

Check that your router isn't having issues either. Routers are often one of the first things to go when lighting strikes.
 
I would love to use my OpenWeb account to its full potential.
I'm just waiting until Telkom upgrades the exchange, which is congested because they upgraded the line speeds.

Just want to say I'm super impressed with my Gold uncapped with OpenWeb. Have been with Telkom since Noahs ark but finally took the plunge after much research about a week ago. Speeds are fantastic (for 1mb line :)). Long may it last!!
