Hi MrBeep

Just some feedback on the test account, HTML was fast, youtube was fine, Dota 2 pings were @ 300ms. where i normally get 250ms.

I did not really try P2P for long, did a 15min session it was pulling down at 75Kb on a 2Mb line.. switched to FNB, 200Kb...
but thats a capped account vs uncapped.

I will test again tonight if its still active.

Second week of Openweb Vanilla and still a fantastic connection. No shaping that I noticed, first account was a bit broken (seemed to be throttled down to 1mb) but quickly got given a new one and since then 100% - 4MB Vanilla.

I work during the daytime and my torrents run at night (I am not on the PC at night - so I don't watch it) - according to my graphing it seems to be going pretty decently considering I don't do a hell of a lot of downloading.

Latencies are great, always (I don't game, but do a lot of remote SSH work).

Just mailed Mr. Wright asking for a standard 1mb uncapped account in place of my 10gb capped account. And quick -quick i am on a standard 1mb ucapped account.

Hey Friends,

We are offering free 48 hour trial accounts of our uncapped product range.

If you are interested in joining the 'Blue Team', and would like us to put our money where our mouth is, email [email protected] with your line speed and trial account request.

Try before you buy. We know you will love it so much, you wouldn't be able to log off!

Now that's really awesome :)

Happy downloading,
MrBEEP

Hehe, MrBeep, trying to entice the members of the struggling ISPs to join? :p

With the rate Afrihost is currently losing clients I expect to see a lot of new members with various other ISPs.

Hey Friends,

We will be unshaping ALL accounts at 17:10 tonight for the entire weekend.

Happy downloading! (and gaming!)

MrBEEP

I've been on the 1mb uncapped account (free for November promotion) for about 2 days now and my Diablo ping has never been better, 199-210 with a max of 220 which is perfect for the game. Thank you very much guys. :)

Also downloads at max line speed permanently so far, awesome value for money!

Okay, I am so happy I left AfriHost for OpenWeb. Not only is it fast and reliable constantly, but then they do stuff like this.
My girlfriend and I planned on having a Guild Wars 2 weekend, so this is going to make the weekend so much sweeter.

Thanks MrBeep. Trying to convince all the unhappy people at other ISPs to join the "Blue Team"

This is really strange. I haven't downloaded anything all week. Back on 384 my line was pretty much running 24/7, but now I don't really know what to download anymore. :p

Thank you for the kind words guys! We are really glad you are enjoying your new accounts. At least your days of lag spikes are over! AWESOME!

Anyone having problems atm? Im on the saix backbone and seems to have a lot of website that just won't open all of a sudden. Battled to get here as well. Have to use my backup account now. Pages that do open on the saix backbone are extremely slow.

Hey Rohan,

There seems to be a Telkom cable break or similar causing issues.

We are currently chatting to Telkom to confirm this.

Actually Telkom just made a mistake in BGP. They are announcing a full routing table to all their peers and transit clients in SA, so a lot of traffic is flowing in, incorrect directions or sub-optimal paths.

thanx for this all my saix clients is down :(

Ah, that explains it. Was on a Telkom account just now and couldn't do anything at all. Switched to my Openweb account and everything is super-speed.

To Mr. Beep and the guys and Gals back at Openweb, Thanks a stack for this. I plan to indulge this weekend.
Thanks again.
